      Chirunner:
Sounds like a great start Sunbird24:-) if he's never allowed to manage himself how will he ever learn? I'm sure he'll surprise you pleasantly if you let him try and are around to help when he flounders. All the best! It's really tough knowing how to strike a balance, and it's tough not to worry even after you've gone through sec 1 n PSLE once or twice. I have another boy in sec 1 now in another school and I'm still trying to figure out the system there n can't help but worry a little too. N this year'll be my third consecutive PSLE year and I still worry cos every child is different so there's no one size fits all approach.

woowww Chirunner :udawoman: , u r fantastic, 3 consecutive PSLE yrs - I wont be able to handle that, one was too tiring for me, another one in 3 yrs and I already dread it .

I can echo sunbird24's views, it is not easy to totally let go - but we r all learning. I am getting used to many new things just as much as DS. My DS has made some nice friends and is enjoying making his own decisions and finding his way around too. Though a bit worried on how he will cope, I am also determined to be his adviser and not his decision maker any more :celebrate:. Sometimes it is so tempting to just override, I am trying to bite my tongue and listen to his decision and support it too - hahhaha - not easyyyyyy - but will surely learn.

when a child offered an IP thru dsa, when his result did not match the cop of 255, he may go to o level track unless he do well in sec 2 ?

The IB class will be group together in few classes in sec 1 ? how many classes are there right now ?

Final group of IB will be to determined by sec 2 ? how many will be in IB track in sec 3 ? 400+ ?

It's been too quiet here - where are all the KSPs ???

Kirakira, sunbird24, breezy, muffins, Chirunner, csc - so long did not hear from anyone 😒

How r the boys coping after 3 weeks in ACS(I)?? Mine's having a lot of fun πŸ˜‰ .

Some homework on most days but nothing too much to handle or too tight a timeline. Happy making friends and discovering new routes (and getting lost). We r still figuring out the route to the MOELC and I really find that place is not very well connected. We will try and taxi pool to the class next week, but coming back home is still too 'around-the world' - sighhhh ...

Next Saturday is the Parent teacher meeting - looking forward to meeting the teachers and other parents.

Kirakira and muffins - want to meet up :celebrate: ???

I've been checking in, but too busy to post.

Mine's having a fantastic time. He's alot happier in ACSI then in primary school. Workload is so manageable, but from what I understand, it will pile up soon !

Can't wait to meet the teachers - many questions. For e.g. the email list on the website to contact the teachers don't seem to work?
But wonder if its a Principal's briefing session only?

Let's meet up. Remember your white rose Harini heehee.

hi hi harini, kira kira n all,

havent had time to check in cos my dad's hospitalised. 😞

my ds is settling in fine in the school, making friends n all, but CCA wise, it's still pretty unsettling as we applied for the RSP pending results.

in any case, i received a call from the PSG, sharing with me tt the principal's briefing session covers for all the 6 yrs and there wont be much chance for parents to ask questions.

however, the PSG has organised a get-together session with the principal for yr 1 parents who are members of PSG on 2 feb.

                FYI,

                Date: Tuesday, 2 February 2010

                Time: 6 – 8 pm

Venue: Staff Lounge, ACS (Independent) Boarding House

All parents who join PSG are invited to Tea with Dr. Ong. This is an event where parents will have the privilege of having private tΓͺte-Γ -tΓͺte with him. It is one golden opportunity for you to engage the Principal in a relax setting. Here, he will also share with you his vision for the school and his expectation of our children.

                cheers n gd nite!
