I have been to the nus hostel briefing on 28 sept with my DS, i am really happy with the boarding program and the speech from the boarding master is so assuring. I believed my DS will definitely benefit during his stay in hostel starting jan 1, 2014

Hello, GP in itself is an A-level subject, and since NUS High does not take A-level, it does not take GP. That being said, English at senior years (4~6) do follow the GP requirements broadly. You can expect that English standard will not be compromised due to being a maths and science school.
Students do not need a laptop per se, however it is greatly advantageous to have one. Having a laptop will help in things such as group projects, presentations, assignments, etc.
