No leh i went to the open house last year.. They are very vocal... In fact a lot of ministers comes from NJC.... If not vocal how to be politician?

Of course, I don't refer to the past. I am refering to students in recent years.

Do they win any debates competition?
Do they win many PSC scholarships? (which usually requires leadership quality and perform well during interviews which almost equate to expressing your view efficiently).
They don't perform well in any competitions that require

      presentation skills.
Are there outstanding leaders in recent years?

Above = vocal?[/quote]What else do you have?

They are generally more quiet and low profile. Go to this university, you'll hear this senior from this JC and that senior from that JC and then you start to wonder where are all the NJC's seniors?

Those now voicing their displeasure at HCI have their own valid reasons in doing so. Not simply becos they r more vocal than other schools' students.

I haven't seen any \"valid reasons\". Maybe you can share what you know?

Their test/exam questions are usually harder than O levels. Even at lower sec level the questions difficulty can already be more than that. So much so that the students will find O level ten-year-series easy.

That said, these are supposedly smarter students and should be stretched, which otherwise they will find the subjects too easy. The challenge is balancing how much to stretch.

That is what I suspect. Some school students may feel happier because they are not stretched sufficiently. They can feel happier now but will sad later.

My dd is from another IP school n she said the same thing - she found O level 10 years series very easy.

                Dear Parents,

Perhaps you might want to take yr arguments to another post instead of the HCI post?

To avoid mis-info, HCI High School has a long tradition of annual project competition where the where boys from all levels compete from a long list of extra-curricular subjects like inventions, future trends, Resource Mgmt, Maths, etc.

The do get to choose their own team members. Only the Sec 1 might lose out because of unfamiliarity with new cohorts.

My sec 1 ds enjoyed this project. I left him to work it out with his team mates (lots of last minute work but was impressed how they somehow managed to put the project together). I believe he has gained much from this experience of working with his team mates & under a teacher mentor - project management, presentation skills, independent thinking, software skills, problem solving, learning to accept feedback, rejection, disappointment etc etc. These are important life skills that can't be learnt via normal classroom lessons/ exams. Valuable!
