[quote="Blobbi"]Lysine didn’t work for us. I’m giving him acidophillus (dunno spelling) for better absorption from what he already eats.

is it Acidopholous? or can you tell me more abt this?

Acidophillus is the good bacteria in the gut.

        Promotes better digestion and immunity

But i wonder how will it help child eat faster 🙂 - Its the child's interest in food..

I agree... my boy if he loves something he will eat it fast enough... !!

Then, for food he doesn't like, we give him \"competition\"... between mummy, daddy and even our dog (sorry, we gave up trying to make him another sibling so he's the only child): the first who finish certain food first will get to pick our next outing (our dog's default pick will be the nearby dog run, which bores my son to death)! My hubby and I sometimes will let him win... but our dog will never let him win, so he really has to gobble up that carrot or fish ball that he hates! 🙂

my DD also eats so slowly, sometimes take an hr and still not yet finished!

Even when I show my anger & frustration, she still eats slowly.
Afterwards, I discovered it is because she either had late snack or ate too much snack.
So I learnt to drag dinner time a bit, depending on what time she had her tea snack or how much she ate.
But DH somehow manages to spoil things a bit sometimes... sigh.
He will give her too much snacks and then her appetite will be spoiled.
He always doesn't know how to gauge how much is too much and never look at the clock also. :stupid:

                Typical man.

Dun get angry. Just make sure the snacks are healthy kinds.

mine too…getting slower and slower as he grows older…distracted by cartoons, stuffed by classmates’ snacks and birthday cakes and school bus auntie’s biscuits…my IL need to feed him so that he can finish up his proper meal quickly…tsk tsk…

I hv seen 2 opposite ends:

My elder boy was a very very slow eater. MIL spoonfed him while he had his eyes fixed on TV cartoons. I had a fight with MIL over this issue. My elder boy then started to eat on his own after our fight. Still slow but no longer in front of the TV. Now he is a fast eater.

My younger boy did not eat in front of TV watching cartoons. He was interested in food, and ate fast. Now he eats while reading a book, chatting with the daddy. He is the last person to finish his meals.

There is an underlying reason for eating too slowly.

Knowing DH, he sure provides snacks like Pocky, Oreo, etc.. :slapshead:
