All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

And I also think schs should be upfront on the assignments given rather than as n when basis.
Itβs a waste after being selected as pv n yet no chance to complete 40 hrs. -
Agree! If they have made this scheme available then the selection should be transparent. As the demand is more than the available positions, then to be fair, I would suggest to go through balloting for PV applciations! If not selected then can only blame to LUCK!!

Thanks for your reply.
Can you PV for more than 1 primary school? -

:!: :!: maybe really lack transparencyhquek:
hmmm, not sure which school - but the one I helped out in sends out work via email also. Maybe you should update your email to one where you are constantly on. that's what we did, so any work that caught our fancy, we registered within couple of hours (not minutes - that one will be too fast) and were able to get it.
hehe believe me...it's within minutes. I have the emails sent to my office email n my husband's blackberry which is almost instantenous but there r times we r too late!! -
Maybe you can try to ask for a weekly duty kind?
The school I'm applying to PV at is a one year contract so instead of the 40 hours stipulated by MOE, it's more like 100 hours or more.
Even then, might not get a place if there're many Grassroots leaders applying under the same phase

you bug them too much, later the principal decide you strike you off the PV list just as in the MediaCorp's show \"The Pupil\" :rotflmao:
Can share with me the story line? Is that real story? -
Anyone is currently a PV of Pei Chun Public School or have been a PV there before? I need some info about being a PV there and the chances.
My house is betw 1-2km from the school and I am afraid that if balloting is required for that phrase then my chances are not too good.
My son is born in 2006 and I only register for P1 in 2012. Is it too early for me to start this yr or I shd wait til next yr? Any advice? -

Yes it is too early where you should start maybe next year 2011. Generally most schools would close the registration on 30 June but best it is good to check with individual schoolsAnyone is currently a PV of Pei Chun Public School or have been a PV there before?
