CCA during the Sch holidays

I think it is absolutely ridiculous...it's the year end holidays and the kids and teachers deserve this break.

My DS’s CCA has stopped. He is not required to return to school.


Is your child in Sports or Performing Arts CCA that may require the student to continue practice for next year’s competitions?

All CCAs; clubs and society, performing arts, sports, uniform groups, resume and all the way till 15 Nov.

I think it is fine as long as parents are given warning early in the year. What annoys me is when activities are added at the last minute.

DD1 (sec 1) needs to go back to school for CCA twice a week right up till 1st week of December. DD2 (P5) needs to go back on average twice a week until end Nov.


Was telling hubby luckily we booked our year-end holiday for the 2nd week of Dec.

Secondary school started school holidays but their CCAs are indeed still on.

I think MOE could look into this area. There must be a line drawn for activities held between holiday and school cirriculum hours. It is not reasonable that students be penalised with non attendance when the activities are held during school holidays. Most parents and students spend long hours at work and at school these days, holidays is almost the only period for them to catch up, and perhaps to go for a getaway together. I am not saying all families need school holidays for it but it is always nice to have options there. Afterall, it is school holidays! However, if school imposed such attendance policy , then parents will be hesitant to plan ahead in case it disrupts the school schedule. And very importantly, teachers need a break too. They have family like everyone else, need to take break and recharge .

Whoa! Nowadays secondary school got so many days of school holidays. Lagi more shiok than primary school kids. :siam:

Wait... Why does the MOE website says that secondary school term is until 15th November 2013? :?
