hi everyone, may i know if YZ has after-school care and if it is within or outside the school? Thanks...
Hi,
There's an after school student care centre at Serangoon Gardens, a short drive away. It's called My Learning Sanctuary @ 45 Burghley Drive, tel: 62801375. I think if your child takes the school bus, they can drop him/her off at the centre after school. Check it out. Cheers. -
Good day,
Any parents know if the Primary One teachers are always fixed in the respective class?
i saw the staff directory posted in YZ website... is this the final arrangement for next year or it is subject to changes?
MOE has rotated the prinicpals among the school.. just wondering if teachers should be rotated as well..

Hi
Can anyone share which science text books is the school using currently ? -
Hi,
My boy is going to start P1 (class 1a) at YangZheng in 2014. Mixture of excitement and anxiety.
Still hunting around for good studentcare centres to place him, prefer a homely environment with good mix of academic and non academic activities vs. tuition centre setup. Such centers are hard to come by and really limited choices in serangoon area. School bus vendor also only plys within 1-2 km of the school… Does anyone have any recommendations to share? -
went to get my son’s uniforms and books from the school bookshop today. crazy queue and wait for uniforms. we went early, and they were not open. When the bookshop staff arrived, they had only one person serving for the purchase of uniforms. Said person was handling the sale of uniforms, PE attire and shoes. There really needs to be better management of the system (or lack thereof) especially when parents have to make time (weekday, office hours) to purchase the items in time for orientation. First few in queue and there is already no stock for his house tee. They said the stock is at the bookshop (they are selling at a different location, behind the canteen). So now I have to make a special trip down to buy since they aren’t open on orientation day. Or wait for when school opens proper to purchase.
Also, does anyone knows if the uniform supplier is new? The clothes are really lousy! PE attire is so thin and the shorts, both the uniform and PE are so transparent. I noted that the website indicated Shirley Season Wear (at Serangoon Central) as the uniform vendor but the letter to parents said only BL Marketing / school bookshop. -

went to read through the forums... apparently, BL marketing hasn't learned how to improve the efficiency after 2 years.Hi went to the sch yesterday..
It took me 2 hrs to wait to purchase the books n uniforms though there are only a few parents doing the purchase .Alot of time spent on waiting. Not efficient . The vendor is not prepared. Hopefully on the 8 n 9 nov, they are better organized n prepared . Otherwise, prepare to wait for half a day .
My advice : to do the preorder for the textbooks .

I think DC's teachers were the same throughout the year, except once last year when the Maths teacher resigned and another teacher took over.Good day,

The school at the moment, is using My Pals are Here Science (2nd edition), at least for lower block. DD just finishing P4 this year. My guess is that upper block is also using the same series (more logical). So if that is the case, the P5 students in 2014, like DD, will likely also be continuing with My Pals are Here Science (2nd edition) Upper Block.Hi
Can anyone share which science text books is the school using currently ?
For P3 next year, for sure it's not the same book as used this year, cos the syllabus is changing to new one next year. -
