        Blobbi:
Trying to distill my thoughts here - there is a difference between sharing good news and bragging.

I love good news! Good news makes me feel happy for the person, and is inspirational.

Bragging is something else. It's when someone tries to make you feel small, eg, \"I'm richer/better/more gorgeous than you. My kids are more genius/self-motivated/mature/do their assessment books more willingly than yours.

They do this in various guises, macam their victims are stupid like that, so they need to keep reminding you of your inferior existence (vis a vis their superior one). The good thing is, they're usually quite famous, ie, everybody has been victimised by them at one point or anpther. So to all braggarts, enough already. Everybody can see through your ruse. You don't have to make others feel small just so you feel adequate. Talk to the mirror if you have to, but give others a break.

:goodpost: Blobbi and I agree with what you've mentioned ...

I thing all u whiners should go back and read thru what yourselves wrote for this thread.

U guys r all so shallow.

U can accept "bragging" from a close friend, but not when it comes out from a stranger or someone you don’t like.

            Ava dear,

I see that you are new.

Would you please introduce yourself over at the Newbie thread??

Also, may I suggest that YOU read through the whole of 9 pages of this topic before making any kind of judgement?? After all, you barely logged on, like just maybe a few mins ago I believe??

            TIA πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„

Hi ava, welcome to ksparents! Free for all lah. This bragging thing is one thing that really gets me, so am glad to have this space to rant. Luckily though, I don't encounter a lot of it, which is why I remember each event so clearly.

Having watched the thread unfold, I don't recall anyone saying they accept bragging from a close friend but not from strangers leh. :?

We might get a new thread soon πŸ˜‰

maybe ava is \"second id\" created by a regular here to voice his or her opinion? maybe some of the comments were too close for his or her comfort.

Actually tankee, I felt the same too, that perhaps the comments may have really hit a nail (her) on the head, but I didn't want to draw any 'baseless' conclusions ... but since you mentioned .... πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜„
