How much $$$ do you spend on your Pre-schooler?

It is a Church Kindergarten near my place, 4 hours program, very traditional pre-school education. That is the cheapest Kinder around liao (except childcare which I did not consider as I prefer Kinder enviorment for kids) Since I have down graded her from NAFA, and have more budget for enrichment so I would continue with the rest of programs outside the school, she enjoys all these and the benefit is obvious.
Mandie,Mandie:
let me do mine as well
4 years old
half day Kinder (new school next year) : 210
I can read : about 170
Simepi : 110
English Speech & Drama (at home) : 40
Chinese enrichment : 180
Fine Art : 85
Dance : 40
Total $ 835 :x
Can not imaging if I continue her with NAFA next year which the school fee ifself is about $740 per month (with GST) for half day school only....
which school charge $210/mth halfday kindergarten, but is not proficient enough to teach phonics, chinese and art? or is it halfday childcare?? with the amount you spent on enrichment (which seems to cover all aspects), have you consider going for cheaper kindergarten programme? -
Hmm, chance to do my calculation now
DS1 (6 yrs old)
$500 for half day kindy
DS2 (3 yrs old)
$450 per term for kindy
abt $950 for 2008 just for kindy, did not want to stress out with enrichment classes during weekends.
now planning for 2009.
tentatively as follow :
DS1 (P1)
Arts Class : $65 / month
speech & drama : $80 / month
piano class : $100 / month
total for DS1 : $245
DS2
half day kindy : $350 / month
english enrichment class : $180 / month
piano class : $100 / month
total for DS2 : $630
total for 2 kids (for 2009) $875 -

Hi all
All the calculation...lost...
my working is for NAFA:
approximately $650 per month...all in (the usual 3 hrs program plus one hr of arts ie. 2x art lessons per week, 2x music lessons and 1 dance).
so, to me, quite a deal...as for GST, ya, quite a bit. wish they could waive them.

oops, for NAFA, don't forget there is about $160 of material fee per term. Actually, I have calculated the fee per month is [(1950+160) x 4 x 1.07] / 12mth = $750 per month. And need to pay for two months of shcool holiday as well

Hi there
I've checked with the admin with regards to payable fees during holidays. She emntioned that since the management has decided to charge on term basis, fees not payable during hoildays..
as of the rest of material fees, some Kindergartens charges more than NAFA. For one like trinity methodist..around $80 per term, both chinese and english readers to be paid separately.
so come to think about it, NAFA still ok. However if i want more enrichment classes for my daughter, dun think i will be able to afford.
also, did you know that they are looking into having a new playground next year? will be good to upgrade their facilities since they are charging this rate. -
Hi Wonglady
Fee is charged on term basis, 4 terms a year including Jun and Dec, $1950 per term. May I know what did you mean that holiday is not payable?
Personally I like NAFA very much, if not for the revised fee, i would had let my girl stay. But the revised fee is too much for me to bear as I still want to give her enrichment classes for language and music besides going to NAFA.
Thanks for sharing! -

What matters most is my gal enjoys it, $$$ is secondary issue.
