I need some advise on p3 after school schedule. Can somebody advise on whether if school work is a lot in p3 and also does your child need to stay back in school for many days? I’m trying to plan my Gal’s enrichment on weekdays so I need some advise. Many thanks!!

For p3s, there is compulsory Malay lessons which is conducted on Wed after school. School ends at 12.20pm on wed. Then they will have Malay class and Value Education lesson (conducted using Buddhist stories). All in class ends at 2.50pm. I can't remember which one comes first. Think you can opt out of value education also. It is best that you avoid scheduling enrichment classes on wed as it is usually the CCA day. However, some CCAs may fall on other days as well.

Other than the above, staying back is probably only for remedial lessons if there is a need identified by the teachers.

dd's classmate who usually gets very good score is going to 3B. But another boy who is also the top seems to be going to another class. So

MMM - may be your dd’s classmate didn’t do so well this time or there are many who did better than him/her. The max class size is around 42 though average should be around 40. Once it is filled by the top 40 to 42 students in level, the rest will be randomly assigned to the remaining mixed ability class i believe.
