We are sorry we only set aside 20 vacancies to that time slot, on a first come first serve basis. We cannot open another slot as this competition is administered by Australian Mathematics Trust. We hope for your kind understanding. Thank you. We :thankyou: for your continual support! -

If this appears as a bonus question in an examination, which will you choose? Option A or Option B?
A) You get 1 bonus point. (Only if more than 50% choose option A)
B) You get 3 bonus points. (Only if less than 50% choose option B)
Looking forward to your participation! :rahrah: -
Hi, appreciate it if someone can comment on the teachers at Kovan and Tampines branch for math Olympiad classes. Thanks much!

Hi, I am keen to find out more for my P4.
If I’m intending to enrol her, which program shall I enrol her in say it’s more towards school syllabus?
As for K2, as a preparation for P1, is IQ class more suitable? -
metz:
We requested for it directly after the trial class. But even with P2 Class, my son didn't find it challenging. So, we dropped the class after 2 or 3 lessons.jedamum:
We were with Maths Hub @ Bt Batok for a very brief period. One aspect I like about this centre is they do allow kids to progress at their own pace. My son went for P1 trial class and was allowed to progress to P2 thereafter (subjected to the teacher's consent).
did u request to progress to P2, or did the teacher suggested? (your post was in 2010)
we intend to stop Math hub as we find it not rigorous enough, although they have a fun learning environment. when his teacher said that they are going to do multiplication next lesson and my boy said he knows his times tables, he said the teacher asked if he wants to teach the class instead. not sure if it was supposed to be a joke, but my boy was upset. to give the teacher the benefit of the doubt, maybe my boy sounded cocky....
How long has your son been attending Maths Hub? You might want to have a word with his teacher about his progress and discuss about skipping levels or joining the Maths Olympiad classes.
On hindsight, I feel that if a child has a strong preschool foundation on Maths, he/she probably doesn't need any enrichment classes in lower primary, especially P1 & P2.
Your son is so cute. I would think the teacher is just joking.
Hello mummies,
just want to feedback my experience with Maths Hub, we actually have not sign up just went for 2 trial lessons. As for what mertz mentioned they will let the kids progress at own pace? To my disappointment it did not happen.
We went to the Redhill branch, and there are only 3 students (including my boy) but the other 2 apparently with Maths Hub since school holiday so can do advanced work while my boy just started the new term FRESH (just after long holiday :P). And the syllabus is way ahead according to my boy P3 textbook it is not teaching 4 operations on fraction yet but the 2 trial classes my boys attended already start doing 4 operations on fraction (1st trial), even 4 operations on fraction with decimal (2nd trial).
Please see the link on their official syllabus:

I thought well even if teaching syllabus in advance as long as the teacher teach him the concept first he should be able to grasp but the class started with the teacher giving out worksheets immediately, go thru 2 example on the white board then if students got any problem will have to ask upon request. Well my boy did manage to do the worksheets SLOWLY but the teacher feedbacked said he is not suitable to join because he is TOO SLOW compared to the other 2 students. I did request if he could teach my boy at slower pace then he replied me \"then the other 2 students how?\" leaving me speechless! Come on, only 3 students in his class!!!
my boy scored very well in his P2 maths so I can't imagine he is struggling...
I did clarify with the supervisor and that supervisor tell me to attend on a weekday class instead but we cannot make it for that timing.
Now The Learning Lab has accepted him so he will be going there but he want to do competitive maths sadly Maths Hub is not the right place for him. -

Hi Atan and Ichikutang,Atan:
I would recommend the maths hub at bishan because they teach you alot of the methods for hard questions in the math olympiad. Bishan is better than the other branches as the teachers are more experienced and they use powerpoints to show questions.
Pls adv how do yu arr at Bishan being the best branch? Power points is used at Bt Batok too (or maybe all branches?) and as I understand, they use standard materials at all branches.
Thanks!
Indeed we use powerpoints in our lessons for Maths Olympiad training. And we also use the same materials at all branches.
For more information, pls visit http://www.mathshub.com.sg
sorry the teacher was definitely not using any powerpoint at all to teach the class. -
Hi Maths Hub
Will you consider opening a branch in marine parade. If yes, when? As your tampines branch is really out of the way…sorry i dont drive. Thanks.
