Are the parents allowed into the school on the first day for P1?

I was told no.
All the girls will assemble at the sch hall for the first week.
Even during recess time, not allowed to enter. How different from when I had first day of school in P1.

Is this the same practice in other pri sch?

Don't worry. Your girls are in good hands. Not only will they have a buddy sister assigned to them the whole month, their huge nametag identifies them as p1s so teachers and prefects will be on a special lookout for any p1 needing help. The kids settle much faster when there are no mummies and daddies hovering around. It's saver for our girls too.

Hmm…different schs practice differently.

Some schs allow one parent to stay during recess.

So it seems there is no chance parent can ever get to know what’s at the canteen, their classroom etc?

P1 will have a parent teacher Session early in the year. You will get to see her classroom and meet her teacher and learn what is expected of the girls. You will get a chance to see the canteen then. If you were at orientation on 8th you would have had the chance to check that out too.

We didn’t get the chance to attend orientation.
BUT, we might get a chance when we head down to buy the textbook end of this month! Wink wink.

Anyone knows the form teachers already?

On orientation day, did the bus transport inform roughly the estimated distance price?

FTs will only be made known to the teachers themselves when they go back to school at the end of December for their 2014 Meeting. The rest of us mortals will only get to know the FTs when our girls report to us after school on 2nd Jan.

Unless your girl has exceptionally big feet, most p1s start with S. buy a couple of pairs to begin with... or even just one to check sizing. School socks are not compulsory. She can just wear plain white ankle socks. She can buy school socks at anytime from the school bookshop, if I am not mistaken.
