Recently, DS1 introduced a PC game 'Black Shot' to DS2, and they have been hooked on it for the past weeks.. :slapshead:

Watching 'Ender's Game' with my boys at J8 this evening.. Most probably, have dinner at Sakae Sushi (though they prefer Sushi Teh at Thomson Plaza)..

Good tutors must be known, experienced mum here knows the anxiety every parent is going through now.

For those asking for EL and science tutors, so far I havent meet any impressive ones. This is a note from my DS1: To all parents, as a secondary school student, I would like to give some advice on how to manage time especially during this stress period of time. Besides time taken up for normal school hours and additional tuitions and supplementary lessons, the time left for most is more or less taken up for school and tuition homework. Some have more time for additional self practices and music classes. Looking back, I have no idea how I coped with psle a few years back It seems rather unfamiliar to most and will be nervous to take the first national examination. Do give encouragements whenever possible. Always sleep early and dont stay up late to burn midnight oil. :snooze: Believe me, it doesnt work well this way. I will suggest that by buying the quick revision handbook(a small one, green for sci, blue for eng. eph) for science and english is helpful. Read it during recess time, break time, in the toilet, beside bed time, on the way to school(if travel by public transport/car). It will help to recap main points of the topics. If your child has a certain interest, for example a parent mentioned about Chemistry, its good to know that the child has something that aids in and occupy the relaxation time. Do not always chiong chiong chiong at the last minute. Always take time to reflect on ur performance. All the best!

Officially joining this thread… PSLE here we come!

I’ve scheduled lots of play time and pockets of reading time in November for DS1.
His tuition will officially start in the 1st week of Dec. His Chinese tutor said, no time already… we gotta start preparing for PSLE.

I’ve read this thread and found that yes, we should get the kids to finish the P5 leftover assessment books. This is to keep the momentum.

Let’s journey together to PSLE 2014. Meanwhile, we should enjoy the holidays too lah.

The reason why mommy is anxious is because she knows time is running out. Although official holidays havd just started, if we take away the 2 weeks plus that we are going away, minus the xmas & new year moods, we left less than 3 weeks that he will want to seriously consider to get down to work, He has no tuitions and he is not going to have, so it really depends on how we manage our time.

Although official holidays havd just started, if we take away the 2 weeks plus that we are going away, minus the xmas & new year moods, we left less than 3 weeks that he will want to seriously consider to get down to work, He has no tuitions and he is not going to have, so it really depends on how we manage our time.

In my opinion, I feel that your ds shld have a good holiday break this Nov/Dec n slowly build up his momentum for Sep 2014 PSLE. Sometimes, if you start too early, he may get early burnout. U need to know when is the rite time to peak.

If your ds is an average or above average, he shld do fine.

Yeah very mindful of what zbear has mentioned too...I realised that my DS was already very tired by SA2 - so we are letting him have a good break with some work in between to address his weaker areas. He seems to be quite happy so far :rahrah:

Wah KSP - I like the emoticons on your \"counting down to 2014 PSLE\" And I feel the same way too.

But let' s see if we can make 2014 PSLE a little less stressful for ourselves and our DCs - I'm going to try and switch my emotions to :boogie: :imcool: :rahrah: :celebrate: if I can! PSLE here we come!
