          Twins:
Hi Flim and every other SAHM who may have some spare time on their hands,

It doesn't have to get boring at all! Have you ever considered volunteering? There are many children-related non-profit organisations in Singapore who would welcome an extra pair of hands / brains!
I've taken a year off work and been a SAHM for 4 months and loving it, and even with my 3 boys, I find time in between to volunteer at World Vision (http://www.wvi.org). Their focus is on the under-privileged children around the world and dedicate efforts to raise awareness on poverty, famine, HIV etc. I'm now helping them with their 24-hr famine camp that will take place this June. Depending on what your interests and skill set are, you can contribute as you deem fit - just meet and chat with the staff there.

It's entirely voluntary and you can choose to work at home or go into their office (of course depending on what needs to get done). You can offer time once a week or more - all flexible. Bottomline, they very much appreciate your effort and hence, the flexibility. Exmaples of other children related causes are Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children's Society etc.

Have a thot about it. It's very self-fulfilling for me personally, and a great example you're setting for your children!
          HI Twins!

Can you tell me more about what you do at World Vision? Where do I find the section on volunteering services? I went to the web but could not find it. My boy will be going to P1 next year (PM session) and I'm thinking I can spare some hours/time while he's at school. I would like to be exposed to new stuff......and explore some part time job be it paid or unpaid in the long run. Tks for sharing more...

            Hi mommies,
            I am a newbie SAHM for 10mths.
Just return to SG recently, was a trailing spouse for past 9 mths.
Hubby is posted overseas (middle east), but I am returning earlier
cos 'excess baggage' needs to be delivered home
 ie. #2 on the way!

            #1 - DD is turning 2 soon!
#2 - DS is due in May.

Hopefully can do some part-time job few mths after DS is delivered.

              Hi Rachelmum,

              Congrats on having #2.
You’re planning to find a part-time so soon ? Who’s going to look after the kids ? They are still very young and clingy, esp the daughter. In any case, take care of yourself and esp during confinement.

Thks for the welcome & concern, Janet :celebrate:

May get a maid to help me out during the day & daddy can help at night.
Thinking to look out for part-time teaching like few nights in a wk, so i can still spend time with the young ones.

No maternity leave nor benefits now ... 😒
so maybe start look out for job when DS is more or less 2-3mth old
