A cousin's bunk mate was on spectrum (mild). Only thing I remembered was : no firearms. He mentioned occasionally his mate had episodes when he sees things others can't. Then, another chap mentioned that mate has special eye.

Depends on the TV channel that they watch. My son likes to watch Nick Jr and Disney XD. So far, he's okay. I never limit his TV time per day as long he completes all his tasks on that particular day.

However, watching DVD may have side effect to my son. He tends to rewind or fast forward it so many times, so he could watch his favourite part repeatedly. He would laugh and laugh like mad.

My son is same, he want to take control of the things (TV, IPad or whatever) and will repeat the same thing again and again will laugh and sometime cry also :frustrated: .

On top of that when he will see bus or moving vehicle passing by he will clinch and do action like getting electrecuted .

I know a child in Pathlight who is also diagnosed to have Dyslexia. The child attends program in Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS), and the parents have to pay full fee of about $1000+ per term.

I'm very surprise. My best friend tried to enroll her dyslexsic son to Pathlight, however her application is rejected by the school. According to them, Pathlight is meant only for autistic children.

Just something to share: My son was diagnosed with ASD last year. We had no prior family history(from both sides) with children or any1 with this disorder. Relatives who do not understand looked at him in a ver different way. Could not follow all the instructions in the Childcare Centre that he attend. I was really upset and did not know how to cope at time. He throw tantrums also. Doctor refer him for therapy sessions and he was eventually referred to EIPIC at THK this February. Condition did not improve drastically. Until 3 months back, my SIL’s friend recommended me to try out on Essential oil, and after 3 months , we (myself, SIL, BIL, and even my mum who is taking care of him) feels that his communication skills improve a lot. He is able to sit still for a longer period of time. This makes me certain that his condition can further improve if i persist. Any1 who is interested to try, can PM me. I can get my SIL to share more as she had been using the product for a longer period of time. Just to clarify, I am not earning anything. Its purely sharing.

This child truly has autism and is thus accepted into Pathlight. However along the learning journey, the form teacher picked up cues that the child might be dyslexic and advised the parent to send the child to DAS for assessment. True enough, the child is diagnosed to have dyslexia, on top of autism.
