Why childcare with iccp programs are less compassionate about the special need kids than mainstream childcare?
In course of 3 years we are turned down by 4 childcare with iccp program and accepted by normal childcare. It is not like parents want to jump from childcare to childcare but for us we are shifting home, so it don’t make sense to drive 3-4 hours when sending and fetching kids.

so cute.... how old is your son?
Just to share a recent issue with our daughter, recently my daughter start crying every time i dropped her to EPIC we guess 2 things
1- She waking up at night, maybe she cranky because of not enough sleep.
2- Or due to her new class mate and she could be jealous that her favorite teacher was giving more attention to her new class mate than her :scratchhead: .
EPIC teacher told us that there was no change in any routine and we were very puzzled.
Recently when we went for year end meet parent session, teacher at EPIC told us they made her wear a jacket with bean bags to increase her self awareness. At that time we realize why she don't wanted to go to school and start crying every time i dropped her at school.
1- She don't like to wear jackets (she like T-Shirt or light clothes).
2- They made her wear jacket with weight.
I don't know how to comprehend but teacher at EPIC failed to inform us this change but they thought there is some change in routine at home. My both kids are none verbal and it is very difficult to understand if they are facing any issue at school.
DoubleE, is there anychange in any routine for your boy at EPIC or home? Any small change can trigger a new episode. -

My son is same, he want to take control of the things (TV, IPad or whatever) and will repeat the same thing again and again will laugh and sometime cry also :frustrated: .
Depends on the TV channel that they watch. My son likes to watch Nick Jr and Disney XD. So far, he's okay. I never limit his TV time per day as long he completes all his tasks on that particular day.tyeogh:
Let me re-phrase. Having been born with the condition, did the presence of the TV make it worse for your child?
However, watching DVD may have side effect to my son. He tends to rewind or fast forward it so many times, so he could watch his favourite part repeatedly. He would laugh and laugh like mad.
On top of that when he will see bus or moving vehicle passing by he will clinch and do action like getting electrecuted

You mean they are not exempted from ns?![/quote]They must.
LoL! Pa si buay zhao! But I recommend you be smart about it. If the state is not going to help you (much), you might as well go the SPED path and when he turns 18, claim that he will shoot friendlies when he tantrums. They might exempt him from NS!tyeogh:

I may just push boy into mainstream school and spend the money for one-to-one tuition for him. Be very thick skin, no matter what the school says, \"pa si buay zhao\". :nunchuk: -

RE: All About Autism
@slmkhoo, i just hate listening to doctor when they have nothing to blame they just blame genes.
I have 2 kids and both are on spectrum, when doctor was asking us about any of our relative or anyone in family history have issue and upon our answer no he said it is gene mutation.
I understand in US they give 5 day 1.5 hour early everyday home intervention at no cost, any one knows about it? I am paying around 800 for my two kids. -
