Dear parents.. hello !!
I been reading this thread but still not too sure how things works to get my son admitted to RV primary.. so hope some can help shine some light..
we are Singapore PR. I live next to the school (less then 30 steps from door to door)
I wonder how secured are we to get my son to this school 2 yrs later.. do we need to volunteer? is the closenest to my home sufficient ? or is this school so popular and in high demand that i should do volunteer work to secure a placement?
i surf in MOE website phase system but i dont read any regard about close proximity btw school and home..
hope someone can give me some advise... thks in adv -

Hi, so nice to hear from you too :D. So we have 3 parents from class 1E. BTW, any idea if 1E comes with the tagline endurance or graciousness??? The letter we received from the teacher (1st day) had a wrong teacher's name (probably cut and paste) and had 1E (graciousness) written. DD says graciousness should be for 1G instead.... we are so confused now!Hi Zioner & raynreg

Hi, its been 2 hectic weeks in school… how is everyone coping? Seem to have some homework and spelling list is out. DD is writing stuff in her diary for homework and reminders, don’t think we did that during our time in Pri 1! And yes, its 1 Graciousness, not sure if they have dropped 1E for now…

Hi ST, glad to see u here together wif Zioner... how are the kids doing in school? The class name of 1 \"Graciousness\" is really long.. Everytime when I see the kids write them down on their assignment :faint: . In their classroom, they pasted the simplified version of it \"Grace\".... I guess ours has the longest class name compared to Honesty, Kindness, etc

Hello RVian Parents,
It’s been a while since my last post. In regard to the new class/house names, it has been the P’s good intention to ‘re-invent’ the school. This has been one of the initiatives mooted out which include the new school motto and mission.
Like other parents with kids from the upper levels, I’ve noticed that there are also other changes this year compared to the past i.e. school camps for the lower primary, use of Art Textbooks etc. On the academic aspect, be prepared that this year onwards, more challenging questions will be set in CAs and SAs.
Let’s keep ourselves updated. -
Hi, I’m thinking of registering my girl into RVPS this year. Doing PV there so stand a good chance to get it. Kids seem to be quite happy here, though a bit noisy during recess and after school (maybe same in other school I’m not sure). May I ask you guys what kind of CCA’s are available in the school? How are the teachers? are there a lot of homework?

Looks like you are staying very very near to the school. Which school isn't noisy during recess and after school?
As for CCAs, you may want to check from the school website. From my limited knowledge, soccer, volleyball, aesthetics are the popular ones. Teachers? I could only say they are dedicated. Homework? Not so much for P1 and 2 but as they progress to higher levels, certainly alot to cope with 
for my boys, at least! (I think the better the class you belong, the higher the expectations from teachers, who may teach more and supply more than what's supposed to be taught). -

U are already doing PV now? May I know whether there is any interview/selection process? What i understand from the school is that they normally do not conduct interview and generally all parents are accepted for PV… is it true?
What sort of work are the school lookg at?
