Hi, I’m thinking of registering my girl into RVPS this year. Doing PV there so stand a good chance to get it. Kids seem to be quite happy here, though a bit noisy during recess and after school (maybe same in other school I’m not sure). May I ask you guys what kind of CCA’s are available in the school? How are the teachers? are there a lot of homework?

Looks like you are staying very very near to the school. Which school isn't noisy during recess and after school?
As for CCAs, you may want to check from the school website. From my limited knowledge, soccer, volleyball, aesthetics are the popular ones. Teachers? I could only say they are dedicated. Homework? Not so much for P1 and 2 but as they progress to higher levels, certainly alot to cope with
for my boys, at least! (I think the better the class you belong, the higher the expectations from teachers, who may teach more and supply more than what's supposed to be taught). -
Thanks for your reply puffer. I don't live that close to the school but I am there doing PV

Hi Minnie 2004,
U are already doing PV now? May I know whether there is any interview/selection process? What i understand from the school is that they normally do not conduct interview and generally all parents are accepted for PV… is it true?
What sort of work are the school lookg at?
Thanks!! -
Hi XK, yes I’m doing PV there now. There was no interview but according to the principal in the PV briefing session, not all applicants are accepted.
I’ve done library duties, accompanied students to plays, and helped out on CCAs. Their PSG involvement is quite high but they’ll generally try to find work for those 40-hr PVs to complete their hours. -
Did anyone attend the PTM on 19 Feb? Now we know why the Pri 1 classes are given names other than ABC etc. The school principal has reasonably good vision and aims, however the HODs seem to be constantly reminding parents that the subject workload will not be stressful and the children will not be stressed in school… I felt very stressed listening to their lecture. Pri 1 Graciousness chinese teacher seems to be very enthusiastic, think its good for our kids… hope she can sustain the energy levels.
