Want to know more about choosing third language.

      1. Are there many DHS students taking the third language? What is your advice about managing third language and school work?

      2. In the S1 posting form, I noticed that we can only indicate one choice from each category. Does it mean if my DD's choice from that category (e.g., Japanese from third category) is not successful, she will be allocated her choice from another two categories that we indicated in the form?

      3. Is there a school bus service from DHS to the language centre?

      Thanks so much.

      (1) Yes....quite a number at the beginning of yr1...
But some drop it after 6 mths, 1 yr...most will drop it by end of yr2...

      (2) Not sure...cant help u, as my gal didnt opt for 3 rd lang...

      (3) Yes...but it's not Free horr... šŸ˜‰ ( pay per term)

Thanks. Will try it out first and see how it goes. šŸ˜„

              Hi,

Although Dunman high offers a 6year IP program, can students transfer to another JC in secondary 4 even if they are NOT in the O-level class :scratchhead: ? If they can, how do they do so?
Please enlighten me and many thanks in advance šŸ˜„ .

There are cases of students who transfer out to other JC in sec 4,
Also heard of students who joins DHS after sec 4....
The number of transfer cases is getting lesser n lesser each yr...
(heard there is quite some at the beginning when DHS first started its A level)
As for this yr, feedback fr my gal that so far she didnt hear of any of her frens whom she knows transfer out...

My DD will be in her 3rd year for Japanese
First year there are about 3 school buses from Dunman to Bishan
                        Now left with one bus
It is very much depending on self interest, my DD continue to score A for 3rd lang, so I will still encourage her to go on though time is the factor.
To help her up, I offer picking her up from language centre after work.[/quote]Thanks. It is really a big drop of students taking third language when the school demands get higher, I supposed. Great to know that you DD is doing so well!
