(1) Yes....quite a number at the beginning of yr1...
But some drop it after 6 mths, 1 yr...most will drop it by end of yr2...

(2) Not sure...cant help u, as my gal didnt opt for 3 rd lang...

Augmum, yesterday dd returned home with a letter....so roughly understand what is all about....the school will give assignments and worksheets to those who did not do well in that subject/s and the students must do them without fail.....when school opens they need to retest for that subject/s too and it is a MUST to do but not stated if counted or not......maybe to guage their strengths(??????)school still get parents to sign the agreement to get their kids to do what stated....isn't they are caring and considerate towards their students....appreciate that really....my dd needs to do two retests....good to make her revise all over again....no holiday is ok for her cos critical time calls for critical solution ....after her pw she will need to brush up everything again. Her teachers also agreed to give her consultations during holidays. So touched :rahrah: ......We as parents will support her as usual......now at least got closure to this promos but hard work still continues.....

Yes, Bedokid, heard from my boy that those who did not meet 5AU will have a probationary promotion while those who fail GP will have adcanced promotion. They will have to sit for a \"re-test\" before school open next year. (something like that..)

Yes, fully agreed that this JC1 life is no joke, everyday is so rushed and hectic with the fast going lectures , CCAs, no-ending pw, tutorials and common tests .... My boy has never been so tired for the last 4 years.
Can foresee next year is going to be another \"rushed\" and 'busy' year for them. Must really make full use of this Nov/Dec holiday to catch up and clear all the concept.

There is some parent and child bonding day on 21 July.

There will be games to foster bonding between parent and child.

My gal does not want me to go. She said first of all the event will not interest me and secondly there is no need for extra bond as she feels that the bond between us is strong.

I attended this morning session, quite good, at least manage to get few parents contacts for closed classmate of my DS. Found out that Class 1F is the best academic class among all S1.

Anyone DS or DD being selected for basketball today. Heard the handsome teacher shortlisted 5 boys and 5 girls from each class.

Would that be considered as CCA ?

sometimes, their subj teachers could be the same teacher....
anyway, most of the notes are the same, as could be viewed in DHS official website,
though some subj teachers ( like history) could provide more notes........
