ya, you are right about HCL.
But there are some classes with mixed class of HCL and non HCL.
P4 to P5, school will recommend, parents make the final deicsion to take or drop HCL. School recommend based on CL results and also the other subjects results.
But finally, there are those who are recommended for HCL, but decide to drop HCL. There are those who are not recommended, but wants to take HCL.
Comes P6, the school will have the final say for HCL and non HCL. P5 non HCL excluded. -

Parents-teachers session
My DS form teacher call it PMT, parents meet teachers.
Different level different time.
There should be an overall school activities that was distributed.
If you do not have, to know, many ways,
1. Call the school to ask.
2. Check you DS bag more often for the PTS/PMT form which need parents to acknowledge. (my DS last time always put forms in bag for years and never take it out )
3. Maybe school will sms you to remind you to return the acknowledge and attendence confirm form.
4. Check you email, my DS form teacher send email.
5. The notice email should be distributed via PSG channel -

Actually every year there's only 1 mixed class of HCL/CL. Previous years' it was 5/6 Patience that was the mixed class. This year's p5 classes, more are taking HCL, so the mixed class ended up being 5Peace.ya, you are right about HCL.

Did any of you attend today's chinese briefing.
P5 policy changed. All P5 now will take HCL. Some pupils will take exams and some will not. Those will not will just be learning HCL for improving CL.
It is meant for P5 & P6 parents, but there some KS parents from P4 and even P1 & P2. Salute, they make good members here. -

Never attend. But from what I know in the class allocations for this year's p5 non-gep, only p5 peace, patience, kindness & goodness are taking HCL. It was stated in the list for these 4 classes to buy HCL textbooks, whether or not they are in mixed HCL/CL classes.Did any of you attend today's chinese briefing.

Only the GEP classes (faithfulness) and goodness would have Gem groups, right?

Gem classes are made up from the 2 GEP classes, Gentleness and Faithfulness and the top main stream class, Goodness. About 30 in each Gem class, arranged according to register no. They do subjects like HCL, music, art, PE and even IRS together. -

Yeah, last time my elder son had that when he was in P4 some 3 years ago, but it was not known as \"Gem\" yet then. haha.
