q1 n 2 are similar in concept. Both testing multiplication table.

In q1 it is told, the difference is 1 more straight forward to simulate the answer. In q2, I use the equation 7*u packets +5 =9*v packets + 6 = total number of hairpins to find out what is the difference amt like in q1.
Rearranging the equation, I get 7*u = 9*v +1. So now it becomes same as q1 pattern, can u see that?

In q2 harder to see directly becos it takes 7*13 to get 91 and usually our mental times table stops at 7*12 but right hand side easy to see 90+1 mentally. Anyway for p3/p4 level for guess n check method usually the multiples won't be too difficult.

Hope this explains better.
Basically math is alot about putting it into a pattern easy to see intuitively.

Here's my solution:

1+2005 = 2006
3 +2003 = 2006
5 + 2001 = 2006
:
:
1 to 2005 = 2005 numbers
Number of odd numbers = 1003
So number of pairs of odd numbers to give total 2006 = 1002/2 = 501
so there are 501 whole numbers because (1+2005)/2006 = 1 + (3+2003)/2006=1 + ......................+ (1001+1005)/2006=1

Middle odd number without a pair would be = 1003

So 501 + 1003/2006 = 501 + 0.5 = 501.5

Is this P3/P4 question?

Aiyo small, no la, share your image again as it is not visible on screen. No comparison intended, we all just post our learnings here together as parents. Different kids take to different approaches so it is good to share a few methods in order to know what works for the children.
