Hi. I just wonder why 三字经 and 弟子规 is not in the list? What is the diff betwen 弟子规 and 孝经?
I have teaching my DSs 三字经 for more than a year ago, when they are 4 years old. They now can recite chapter 1 and half way thru chapter 2. Only recently, I try to explain the meaning to them. So nowadays, if they just want to play and don't want to read/write, I will say: 子不学,非所宜,幼不学,老何为. They understand what I am saying.

I am planning (oh no, planning for 3 mths liao :oops: and haven't start) to recite 弟子规. Now, I see 孝经. So, don't know which one to go for then.
Anyone knows anywhere conducting 弟子规 or 孝经 for preschoolers?

I was very busy last whole week.

I am not sure the education here as i studied in Malaysia. I do hope school will teach them chinese classics.

My son learns chinese classic at Buddhism Centre. My son likes to attend but not so keen to pratise at home. No matter how unwilling he is, i see him progress well.

I let him listen to CD and i read to him up to 10 times a day depending on my schedule. He absorbs almost all. If he refuse to recite, i will read to him instead.

Yesterday was his 3rd class. They learn a page every week. After second week he can recite the first page easily, 2nd page with little help. He is on 3rd page and we are working hard on it.

Young children’s memory is amazing.
