      Thanks Gymkraft!

At what point do you switch to RG? 🙂 I heard from some parents that most gym schools specialise in AG or RG exclusively and not both... So I'm concerned that my gal will just be in the AG track solely :scratchhead:[/quote]

      Hi

      Depend on your child.
You cannot do both competitively at the same time. They are very different, like TKD and WuShu.
Why are you concern about that? We cant have everything.
So choose one, and if your child want to switch, up to him/her.

      Cheers!

        Hi Gymkraft,

I'm thinking of starting gal on AG since you rightly mentioned that AG provides the foundation. My only concern is that if I enrol her in an AG school, there's a possibility of her doing AG all the way since the school I'm interested offers AG only (RG schools are very limited anyway if I'm not wrong).

Since the AG school doesn't offer RG, the instructor might train her in AG all the way. Therefore if I'm really interested to put her in RG, at which point in time should I switch to a RG school? Eg, 6 mth ? 1 yr? Etc

        Sorry I'm a novice at this 🙂

And I have this impression that once I let my gal join the AG school, she would be there all the way trained in AG.

Would the instruction be so ‘noble’ to tell me to switch to RG?

Sorry, my guess, but there is a minute possibility. Hehe

            Hi.

I can understand your dilemma, but your direction is a bit skewed.
It's like, you want your child to do soccer, but put him/her in a basketball school, which you are interested in, instead.
If you really want your child to do RG, go for it right from the start.

Choose AG if you do not have any idea which to go first.
If you child is happy in AG, why switch?
            Hope I resolve your dilemma.

            Cheers!

I believe not many (or none at all) private gymnastics clubs provide trampoline training. It is a very small market and most clubs do it to supplement the AG training.

Maybe you want to check out a trampoline park called Amped Trampoline Park at Tanjong Katong. Maybe they offer some classes there. (I am in no way affiliated to them)

                Cheers!

Not all primary schools have artistic gym.

Where can a lower primary student learn ag ?

There are many privates clubs in Singapore offering AG.
You can check Singapore Gymnastics website:
                    http://www.singaporegymnastics.org.sg/sg/about-2/member-directory/

Note that not all the members have clubs/gym of their own.
Most of them operates in schools, which is not open to public.
You may want to check out GymKraft!

                    Cheers!

                      Hello parents

Check out Prime Gymnastics or Singapore Gymnastics:
                      http://www.primegym.com/index.aspx
                      http://www.singaporegymnastics.org.sg/sg/

They are both .org not .com
I prefer non-profit organisations. We were with Prime at Toa Payoh. Facilities were great, culture was good too. We'd have continued if not because we are overseas.

With the professional organisations, they usually have both Artistic and Rythmic streams. So I think it is not a question parents need to worry when kids are at young ages? I expect the coaches to recommend what is best suited when the time comes, for example for streaming into competitive programmes.

May I ask if anyone has experience with primary or secondary school-based gymnastics? Whether it is wise to transfer to a school strong with Gymnastics CCA or whether it is alright for my girl to train with a club whilst attending a primary school without Gymnastics CCA? I'll really appreciate any sharing on views or experiences with School based gymnastics, especially for serious or competitive gymnasts.

Sorry I made an error there. Prime has turned .com?! But still a good gym I think.
