I think direct discount is anytime better, you are lucky! We pump at Caltex cos company hubby works for offers tie up with Caltex for StarCard that offers 14% off station pump prices. We use 95 too. No diff frm 98.
I find their gift redemptions nothing fantastic though, always the same old stuff...

We are esso supporter. Mainly because there is more outlet, good discount with the petrol discount since Q4 last year? BTW, I always leave the coupons in the car so that I don't misplace it.
We've accumulated lots of points and also there is additional discount for Esso credit card so due to all these reasons, we are still loyal and will only pump at esso... unless there is super discount at Shell.... those that will cause traffic jam type  -

So far I find Esso service also not bad, like the coupons, they will just add in during payment, never even pass through my hands. -

I am in the Upper Serangoon area and there are at least 4 esso in our area while there are around 2 shell?Does Esso have more outlets than Shell?

We used to stay in changi area and there are 2 esso right outside and no shell in sight..... Even at East coast area, there is 1 shell and 1 or 2 esso. So it appeared that esso is more represented in the area I am in.
BTW, we also pump 95. Dropped to 95 since the petrol price hike. See no difference and have ever since stick to 95. But of course when we go to Msia, we would go for the higher quality  -

Now that you mention, I better open my eyes bigger to see the Esso stations. Worse come to worse, I will go to both Esso or Shell station to pick up a brochure for their outlets or any iphone users here know if there is an application that gives such a list of stations in Singapore??

So 95 is quite the preferred option. :celebrate: -
hi ks2me, are you referring to the marymount esso? The sign says itโs closed permanently.
Have been pumping 95 at esso the last few years, after switching from caltex. reasons aplenty:
- atm
- mini market (can pick up bread/eggs/fruits/milk/snacksโฆ)
- polar
- delifrance
But Iโve always wondered if the minimart items are sold at the same price as the larger non-petrol kiosks fairprice. And Iโm getting quite annoyed with the cashiers for asking me if Iโm interested in their chix ess/abalone/blah blah.
I redeem my points for petrol purchase instead of items I dont need. -

I thought the prices are the same? No ah?
Yes redeem for petrol is wisest choice but somehow the household appliances distracted me...

Is it worth it to redeem for petrol purchase? eg. reward value per point? We usually redeem for vouchers so that we can get what we want. I used to like their samsonite laptop haversack too.. But think they don't have it this year.... Just when I am thinking of getting a new bag.... :stupid: -

Seems that after house discount, only SPC pricing makes a difference...thanks for the link.you may be interested in this
