My girl PSLE score 258 + 3(HMT) ...I submitted S1 option form and put St. Nick as 1st choice. What are the chances getting in to St. Nick ? I opt out for IP. I do not know whether I'm right to Opt out of IP. Anyone can advise me ? Which is the fastest way from Yishun to St. Nick ?

Congratulation to yr girl for getting the excellent result.
IMO, it's a definite to secure a place in St Nicks and she will most likely be placed in the Sec 1 'Stretched Class' next yr.
You opted out IP...there's nothing wrong with that as it depends on your girl. She will not be disadvantaged in the O level track in St Nicks.
If she continues to excel, can consider switching over to IP track after Sec 2 or 3 if she wants.
Way to St Nicks, not too sure. Shd be take train but need to take shuttle bus.

For the following CCAs I have some questions…

Debate society
Infocomm club
Mind games club
publications club

1) Which of the above CCAs have competitions and such often?
2) What are the CCAs (mentioned above) about? (Especially mind games club & publications club, what do they do?)
3) Please advise & provide some information if you/ or your DD happens to be in any of the CCAs
4) Can students have 2 CCAs?
5) What sort of students join the above CCAs (e.g students good in EL normally join debate?)
6) How much involvement must there be in the above CCAs?

Sorry for asking so many questions as i am pretty clueless about the CCAs

Can anybody please advise on what happens on secondary school registration day? Is there anything that the students have to sign up for (e.g HCL, CCA)? Please advise and many thanks in advance.

There will be:
- Principal's welcome speech, PSG talk...
- submission of HMT form for those taking it in Sec level
- buying of uniform, textbooks if necessary
- CCAs introd during last day of camp, trail n selection will be on the 2nd week of school onwards

My dd’s dream school is st nicks. But she got 243(including HMT), can she get into st nicks? She put st nicks ip as her first choice followed by st nicks express.i pray hard for her. Can anyone pls advise? What about by appealing?

You have put St Nicks as first n second choices.
Hope that yr dd can get in.
You definitely can appeal after posting result. Pls submit her CCA records/ achievements/ participation in any SYF events...
