      2Transformer:
I was there with my P5 son. I really enjoyed the Principal's talk....a humourous Principal.....my son really likes the school and the Principal.....

Hi 2Transformer.. Wow, You were at the Open House.. I missed it!

Besides the MEP boys, did other aesthetics groups perform too ? I love to watch the Choir & CO perform..

Yes, I like Mr Lee too.. I recall when my DS1 joined CHS(P) at P4 a few years ago, we attended a Welcome speech by the P.. Instead of talking about the serious academic stuffs, he told parents not to rush to sign up tuition classes for our kids and reminded us to bring our kids to the parks to play, and to catch fishes & prawns from the long-kangs.. Then one parent said nowadays no more fishes in the long-kangs, and one small boy asked loudly \"what is long-kang?\".. So funny ! :rotflmao:

Mr Lee also mentioned that every year after PSLE, the top scorers from CHS(P) would join RI HCI NUSH etc.. He said he would not feel sad or disappointed, or try to persuade these boys to stay with CHS(S).. Instead, he would encourage these boys to apply for the top schools and feel happy for them as that was best for them.. He drew example of a father sending his son overseas for studies, coz it was best for the son, even though the father did feel \"heart pain\".. Very respectable of the P to think this way, I feel.. šŸ˜„

Thanks for sharing, firefly38. My friends who attended the open house, either this or last year, are drawn to his endearing character too. Morever, he promised to give his hp no. to every parent whose son gets in to chs and he had already given it to the parents of the primary section. Most school leaders would have avoided such unnecessary burden from parents.

          My pleasure, notredame.. šŸ˜„

Yes.. Mr Lee gives his hp no. to all parents, whose boys are in CHS (Pri & Sec). He gave it to us at a briefing session, when DS1 first joined CHS at P4.

Only managed to transfer DS2 to CHS at P3. By then, DS1 was already in P6. So, my 2 boys were in the same school (CHS) for only one year. But that was a good & memorable one year for both of them !

Just to share.. Another Principal whom I know, who also gives her hp no. to all parents, is the (ex) Principal of RI, Mrs Lim. šŸ˜„

                  :welcome: to 公教!

Most of the boys uses backpack. My ds use targus.

In the 1st two and a half weeks, the sec 1 will have orientation and in the 2nd part of the orientation, they can try out for the various CCAs, be it sports, uniform group or aesthetics...

All the cca are pretty much of high standard... Depends on what your ds is interested in....

                        Hi,

I would like to know if boys are allowed to wear sneakers to school? Also, what to expect on the day of reporting? Thanks!
