but we still need to purchase all?
For my boys, there weren't many books in the booklist anyway.
Higher Chinese textbook: this was required. not used in every lesson but at times, the teacher asked them to bring to class.
Language Arts books: this list was required. They didn't need to bring all of them to school for every lesson, but they needed to read all the books. There were also assignments related to the books.
Maths textbooks: no need to bring to school but some maths homework was assigned from the book and/or workbook.
History/Geography textbooks: experience from my 2 boys were different but I think they were used if in booklist, although not for every lesson.
Science textbooks/softcopy: not used in class, only for self reference.
The above were from my boys' past experiences, may or may not apply for next year. Just for your reference. -
Hi, I'm Amelia from The Straits Times. I'm working on a story about the Sec 1 school posting results today. Would like to speak to anyone whose child got into an IP school, appreciate if you could contact me at [email protected], or 91903116. If you could get back to me asap, that'd be great!

Yes, I purchased all except the optional items (including all the exercise books, writing pad etc.). The book shop staff already packed them together. -

Thanks wonderm. Ds is looking forward to start his new journey!
Song, Ngl and Lexis, congratulations and welcome to HCI!Song22:
Hello Lexis and ngl2010! So happy that our boys will be school/class mates!
If you guys have time today, maybe you can go get the books and uniforms first, must live up to \"KSP\" name
It is good idea to buy your books and uniform before Monday to avoid the long queue. Before you go down, maybe you can call the bookshop about their operating hours and availability of uniform and books.
Lisheng books: 64623240. It is located next to the High School canteen.
For uniform, I think it is safe to get 3 sets and 2 sets for PE. They may need more PE uniform if they join sports CCA. Anyway, they can buy more sets at the bookshop themselves during term time. -
Hi, does anyone know what to bring on 23 Dec for the Sec 1 registration?
Parents whose child got in via DSA, did you get any notification from moe other than the result slip. Others get Sec 1 posting results today, do DSA boys get any notification....just worried that I forget to submit something or miss out any application step....paranoid. Thanks.
Btw, congrats to all who got into HCI. :congrats: -

I am also worried that i miss out any step.
I didn't even know i have to submit the 3rd lang option even though ds doesn't want a 3rd lang. Luckily the primary school called me to remind me to submit a Nil return.
I just went to buy books, very heavy. I couldn't find the canteen, the security guard actually directed me to the boarding school. Took me a long time before finding the canteen.
book shop is not crowded today, so the lady advised me to come down to get the books when i called them to ask about operating hours. -
We just got back from HCI too. Not crowded but each person that tried uniform/PE took time to make a decision. I cannot imagine the queue on Mondayโฆ

Yes, that's why i rushed over to get the books just now during my lunch break. And bought the PE uniform too.
I am not sure what consortium that DS will get in. Anyway, bookshop lady said iSpark has just one additional book, so i bought it as well. Truly KSP
Will worry how to pass it to someone if he is not in iSpark. -
My ds got in through DSA too. I called up HCI yesterday and was told to bring along either his birth certificate or eazylink card. In fact when i told the staff i have already bought the books and uniforms, he said ds need not go down on Monday. Parents be there will do. No need to bring along any other things, we are there to collect package (comprising booklist etc) not to submit anything yet (instructions will be given subsequently).
