If anyone has any questions, I will answer them to the best of my knowledge. Just for your information, there will be a Secondary One Annual Camp at Sarimbun Campsite just before the March holidays. The camp is tied with the Secondary One Orientation (SOO), and the same buddies will be there to lead the freshmen as well.

Song22, I went to ask the person at General Enquiries room this morning regarding MEP.
HCI has AEP but does not have MEP. If our DS is interested in MEP, they must cross over to NYGH for the lesson. MEP is considered as an additional subject. It cannot replace any subject and is not considered as CCA.
For further information, the person advised us that our children must talk to their music teacher when the school starts. -

Thanks for checking! I will talk to my ds. Are your ds interested?
Any parent has ds who is taking this music program at NY? Can you share your experience? Thank you! -

haha - just an observation. HCI doesn't have MEP but it's JC section has. Isn't it strange? Apparently, I heard that it was MOE that didn't allow many years back but the school could do it's own private Music Programme just like NYGH or NJC actually. Both of these schools are not MOE MEP centres for their secondary school programmes.

If DS practices instrument 2 hours a day and yet MEP cannot replace any subject and cannot be considered as CCA, most likely we will not be interested in MEP  I am being realistic. DS only scored A for Chinese Language and he didn't take Higher Chinese in primary school. I think he will struggle in Chinese. So, we plan to spend more time on Chinese.

did anyone have to submit a HCL form? There was nothing like that right?
I only submitted car decal and GIRO form, and also received the notification from MOE about the Malay Special Prog. -

Is your DS going to take MEP?[/quote]We have not decided, I heard the program is very demanding. Also, we would like to know if there are many boys crossing over to the the class, or else, ds will feel awkward
will see how it goes when school starts.
