I will go for FMSS if appeal is successful. Affiliation to ACJC is attractive enough.

dreamgear, commonwealth secondary school… is it css or cwss (clementi woods?) hahahaha…

spicyblackpepper, exactly! but average student there is lower than 238 … in terms of academic learning… hmmm… might not be as challenging as css? though FMSS it’s name is ‘louder’ …

Commonwealth sec is as good as FMSS. I have asked around for comparison between Swiss Cottage vs Commonwealth, was told previous year that Commonwealth is more competitive but Swiss Cottage has a nurturing environment. Look at their similar COP this year. Back to the fact that FMSS has affiliation to ACJC, I didn't know about it, my DS had Swiss Cottage as one of his choices, didn't have FMSS, would have chosen FMSS if we had known the affiliation 🙂

whats the cutoff for swiss cottage this year? 🙂 FMSS went up by 3 points to 241 and CSS went down by one to 238.

Heard Swiss Cottage COP is 239. Not 100% sure.

PSLE is really not a good gauge of how well a student will do in secondary. As I have posted in another thread, I know of students who got 21x for PSLE getting l1r5 6 or 7A1s at O levels. And there are cases where students with 25x, 26x for PSLE getting double digit scores (as bad as 16) for Os. Just work hard and make the best of what the school can provide you.

skyed, yes! definitely! 🙂 but if an able student is placed in a 'lousier' environment, he/she won't be able to excel and if get into undesirable companies especially in teeange formative years, all efforts will go down the drain! alas! 🙂

                    cheers! merry xmas. 🙂

oops... and being in FMSS probably helps as its affiliated to acjc, means in 'O's, the child will be able to get bonus 2 points off...? 🙂
