It varies but was not from any workbook or assessment book.

Besides the usual cloze passage, compre worksheets given by their Chinese teacher, they do some small group projects. And some of the more interesting Sec 1 HCL homework (individual) were like:

Write a story which must include 10 out of the 15 or 20 成语 given (the recently learnt ones).

If you are a HR manager and about to hire someone to work as consultant, whom would you hire and why. 孙悟空，猪八戒 or 沙和尚。

Imagine you meet 陈嘉庚 in school campus, what would you say to him? Write about this hypothetical encountering in 500 words.

My boys are in upper sec and JC already, I don't remember much details but I know they had become more interested in Chinese after entering HCI. Hope your boys will also enjoy their journey in HCI.

My elder boy did Animal Farm in his JH2. He shared the learning objectives was understanding:

1. Layering of meanings of words used
2. the context the story was based on
3. the social, political, etc objectives of the author in writing the book

I only submitted car decal and GIRO form, and also received the notification from MOE about the Malay Special Prog.

Hihi, may I ask what's this car decal you need to submit? We have been on vacation over the past 2 weeks and have asked a friend to help us with the registration. Didn't hear anything about needing car decal?! May I know what's that pls? Also what's the MOE notification about the Malay Special Prog about? I recall selecting that for ds. Appreciate your advice. Hi travel mummy


Car decal form is in the folder. It’s an application for a car decal for entry into hci to pick/drop ds when school reopens.

We also applied for MSP and the folder contained a letter from moe saying we were successful and that the school will provide details in due course.

Other documents in the folder incl a giro form and some student info card and dental consent form. But I think these can be submitted later when Sch reopens except for giro which is 30 dec.

The staff also gave out the LEP form to those boys who qualified (I think it’s Tscore 259 and above, a* for CL). Criteria stated on he pink piece of paper in the folder.
