He welcomed the new students by inviting them to stand up, then asked them to shake hands with their parents/grandparents who were sitting beside them to show appreciation for the parental care, support and guidance. :rahrah:

It seems like DHS is relatively more popular this year than last year. What do you think maybe the reasons? Do you think the two open houses, one in may-june period and one in November helps? Also DHS made a corporate video and some prospectus. Do all these help in making up your mind?

I think Open houses of sec schs certainly help parents and kids to narrow down the choices of their sec schs selecions....
Since they could feel and guage for themselves the suitability and comfortable levels
of the sch environment, culture, teachers and peers ....
Thus, the NOV open house gives parents and kids another chance to visit the sch for those who miss the May/June Open house ( esp after receiving of psle results)

As for the coporate videos, i wonder how many of them would really click on it to view fr the website....
Most who have viewed are those who came for the Open house....
It will be interesting to know if any parents have based on the coporate video to make his or her selection of DHS.....

( to me, i view it kinda of an \" advertisement\" and advertisements dont usually work on me.... )

Ya. We didn't watch the videos too, neither had we attended any of the open house (though Dr Foo did come to the kids' primary school to \"advertise\"). DHS has always been the sec school I hope my kids could make it to. And it becomes my DD's dream school after seeing how her brother had enjoyed himself studying there

It could be that residential population in the east side has grown faster than the rest of the region? I notice that most popular sec schools in the east side have their COP going up by 1 or more points.

This figure will be more appropriate....as far as i know, the successful ones do have multiple COs...
