can someone share how much to give for pocket money ?

Hi gtayc! I'm a J1 student (J2 next year) who's surviving on just $2.00 per day for 1 meal during lunch (rice + 2 vegetable + 1 fish/meat). The more expensive stalls such as the Western one sells theirs at an average of $3.50. The drinks are reasonably priced as well ranging from $1.00 - $2.50.

Though if your son/daughter dines at the hawker centre opposite College, it would be advisable to give around $5.00 because the food there is selling at prices approximately $3.00 - $5.00.

May I know how many stall in the school? Is it most of the stall around $2? If I give 3 is it enough?
There is about 9 stalls(1 snack stall 1 fruit/juice stall). There is also a cafe. Most of the stall is around 2 dollars except for maybe the Western one. There is going to be a break as well (probably) so if he/she is going to eat for break as well then maybe he/she will need about 5 dollars at least

What I did was bring the specs (given by the school) down to an IT fair and selected between a HP, Asus and Toshiba. Chose the Asus as it was the lightest and specs-wise was the best too. Paid about $1.7k after discounts and added stuff.

On hindsight, a model costing between $1.2 to $1.4k would suffice.

My DS has been accepted in TJC IP from next year (sec 1). I would appreciate any comments on this school & what to prepare for. He excels in badminton, is also well rounded & has a broad interest in many topics. However, I am a little worried on subjects like Maths & higher Chinese.

Hi, I hv a few questions. Really appreciate if any parent here could ans.

                    (1) Are navy blue sneakers allowed for school? What 's the acceptable kind of sports shoes?

                    (2) Does the school offer discounted price for Microsoft office? If not, where do u buy the Microsoft office software from and what is the price?

                    Thank you in advance.

                      (1) Are navy blue sneakers allowed for school? What 's the acceptable kind of sports shoes? Officially, it's black or white but navy blue is \"acceptable\" since it's close to black. A little bit of other colours is ok as long as it's predominantly black/white. Laces have to be black or white. This goes for sports shoes too.

                      (2) Does the school offer discounted price for Microsoft office? If not, where do u buy the Microsoft office software from and what is the price? Not that I know of. We got ours along with the laptop

                      Thank you in advance.
