So does that mean that it is possible for a NJC pupil to go to RJC at year 5?

One can always withdraw from a sch.

Whether another sch will accept a new student is up to the other sch.

Suggest u call up the other sch to make a more info enquiry.

Change of JC at year 5 is possible. The process is similar to DSA. I have come across changes involving RI, HCI, RV, DHS and ACSI. I guess it works the same way for NJC as well.
Hi, anyone knows how many students are admitted for 2014 JH1?

On the reporting day, did the school say how many vacancies are available for appeal?

My DS received the school's notification that his appeal was successful on 24Dec....

        :congrats:
Tks Jen ! He got offer from NUSH as well on the same day and he chose the later as his passion is stronger for maths and Scicence. So, we painfully gave up the Njc's offer.....better to let him decide as ultimately he needs to be responsible with his own choice. He knows the NJC style since the sister is there and he thinks NUSH suits him more. šŸ™ hope its a right choice....

May I check whether CCA is important in IP school? As in CIP hour effect the entering of local university? I know like olevel CIP marks can use to cut off some point when choosing JC. How about Alevel? Is it the same?

I believe, in life, the importance of anything is often relative. If I have to choose from a group of about equal qualification and among them, one person have shown that he had taken a more balanced and holistic path, I would have preferred him ahead of others. Others may set other criteria, but anything extra always gives the person an edge over others who are more normal.

In addition, it also depends on what we want for a secondary school education. Do we just want the grades which get them into a uni course, or do we want a holistic education which equips our kids to be better prepared for life in adulthood? This is not a MCQ question. As parents, we are in the best position to coach our kids so they learn how to prioritize and how to strike that balance.

                    I do agreed. šŸ™‚

I am asking because if CIP hours will effect her chance of going into University than we have to be very careful in her CCA just in case it affected her chance of going to a course that she like in university. šŸ˜›

My girl is very active in uniform group in her primary school. Too bad NJC don't have uniform group. She has Martial Art background but NJC also no Martial Art CCA. šŸ˜›

She do have grade 5 ballet and piano. But she is not interested in taking up dance and music CCA leh. :scratchhead:

Now she has headache of what to join. šŸ˜›

My worry is \"in case\" she keep changing her CCA, it will affect her CIP hours like O'level track secondary. šŸ˜›

Hi, understand your question and just to share what I hear.

CCA for uni admission is \"not as important\" as CCA points for JC admission for local universities. Usually grades come first. But for highly competitive courses, they do look at CCA record and interview performance. It is not as straightforward as CCA bonus points for JC admission.

By the way, are you referring to LEAP points when you mentioned CIP hours in your post? CIP hours is only one component of LEAP points.
