Just called Bowen and found out their COP is 226, up 2 points from last year. Am going to appeal. Son got 226 but was not posted there.

How do you appeal? I called up xinmin n cop is 235. My son is also 235 n didn't get into his 1st choice xinmin.

You can go to the general office of the school you want to appeal to, and collect the appeal form. Submit the form with documents (if requested) by the required date.

      Hi,

Does any one knows the COP of Bowen and Ang Mo Kio? Their COP last year was 224 and I thought it was a safe choice because my son’s score was 226. But he couldn’t get into either one of them!

Has anyone receive any email from SST for phase 2?

Not yet. DS went for phase 1 written test on 1 June. If anyone has received, please update. Thanks!

    • RE: All About Maid's passport renewal

Hi, I've just renewed my Filipino maid's passport and she's only with me for 4 months. She's a transfer maid. I'll share with you all how I did it. It's actually very easy. NO need to go through agent despite what you have read online. My maid confirmed this with the Embassy people herself.

      1. Book an appointment with the Philippine embassy to renew maid passport at least 9 months before expiry. Booking is done via the embassy website http://philippineembassysgconsular.chec ... ments.com/. Follow the instructions there. You cannot just walk in for passport renewal.

      2. Prepare the following documents before the appointment date.
      a. Original copy of S$7,000.00 performance bond - Can buy from Income, cost me $71.69.
      b. 2 original copies duly signed Standard Employment Contract - download from http://www.philippine-embassy.org.sg/wp ... s/SECD.pdf and fill them up beforehand.
      c. 2 copies of Undertaking of an Employer - included in the form downloaded from 2b.
      d. 2 copies of worker’s work permit
      e. 1 copy of medical insurance - you would already have bought this when you first employ your maid
      f. 1 copy of employer’s IC
      g. 2 copies of original passport
      i. Application form for passport renewal - Download from http://www.philippine-embassy.org.sg/wp ... tappv2.pdf

      3. On the appointment day, go there early. You don't have to go down personally if you have prepared all documents in advance. Your maid can just go there herself.

      4. At the embassy, your maid will be asked to pay for the following processes:
      a. Authentication of Contract (the contract that you filled up at 2b) – $ 42.50
      b. Verification of Contract – S$17.00
      c. OWWA Membership – S$42.00
      d. Passport - S$102.00

That's it! My maid will collect her passport in another 2 months' time. All information and forms can be found at the Embassy website.

Saved a lot of money. Hope it helps!

    • RE: Scoliosis - Backbone check for Secondary pupils

      Dear all,

I had scoliosis when I was a teenager but my condition stabilized after I started swimming. Later on, when I started yoga, I learned that yoga is actually very good for scoliosis because it helps to lengthen and stretch the spine, strengthen the middle and upper back muscles, as well as the core muscles. So if your DDs have scoliosis, I strongly encourage you to let them take up swimming and/or yoga. Scoliosis can be managed. All the best!

      Hi,

I'm organizing a one-hour kids yoga session at Bishan Park on the last Sunday of June (29 June 2014) 9-10am, for children age 6 and up. If you are interested, please PM me. I'm a yoga instructor and I teach my own children yoga too. 🙂

      Hi,

Can I check what do children need to bring if I am interested.

Just bring along a yoga mat and some water to drink. Parents are welcome to join in too! For details, please PM me.

      Hi,
My post may be a bit late. My son is in JH101 and it's an AEP class. They have extra art session on Tuesday. Comes home late and seems to have lots of drawing homework but he seems to enjoy it.

      Hi JJ1111,

Which OG is your child in? Mine is in OG1. I think he's feeling a bit overwhelmed. So many girls. I'm surprised at the large number of girls in JH1. Boys are a minority. Has it always been like this for the JH intake?

Mine is OG7. Yap alot of girls. My girl groups majority are girls. Think only 2 or 3 boys only. The boys will be \"POPULAR\" in NJC. :siam:

😄 A big change for him, from being the majority (mostly boys in his P6 class) to the minority (mostly girls in NJ).
