phtthp:
Thanks for your advice, dear. There was some delay with the school bus side, as the main office forgot to inform me/ driver and my request was left dangling for 2 weeks, and then when I finally linked up with the correct guy, he sort of blamed me for this late request, so that he'd have to face the wrath of other parents who were already told of the timing. And then he was telling me DD will have to be on the 5am+ timing because of our distance. I have a feeling he's probably trying to put me off so he'll have minimal disturbance to the schedule. Haiz.
I just received Sch bus driver phone call 5 minutes ago -reddiechan:
I've been trying to chase the bus operator for reply, but still haven't got any confirmation. Now is panic mode.
:scared:
confirm pick up time, reach home time & Sch bus number.
Please call your driver again.
Your p4 girl going to start school this Friday morning, 3 jan.
today already Monday - Sch bus detailed info should be out by now!
Remind your girl to remember Sch bus number.
(Dont board the wrong Sch bus)
Also ask yr girl to note down the driver's name, recognize his face & the auntie face well
Reddiechan,
In case there may be more than 1 driver calling you -
Take the one that leave yr hse later, reach home faster.
Because I received 2 phone call from different sch bus drivers :-
One say pick my girl 11.20 am, the other driver say pick her 11.50 am.
They are from different Sch bus number.
So I pick the later one -11.50 am.
This one say can come later, bec he use another route, and go home time -
My daughter is the first to drop off
Years ago, my older boy had to join the SG Int'l school in HK near the end of term, and the transport part was quickly settled and implemented without any hassle or glitch. I seriously don't understand why the huge inertia associated with this additional students. Isn't this an annual ritual the transport people have come to face? -
BabyRR:
hi, hoping to get some advice from mummies here who has done pv at rgps before. Does it make a difference whether we submit pv application form at beginning or end of year? I have a 2010 girl, and we are thinking of making the pv submission decision after my boy's p. school is confirmed after jul/aug this year. I was wondering whether submitting application towards end of year affect our chances ? Thank you.
School will process pv forms submitted -
According to the year your child is born in.
Right now, school is inviting pv applications from parents whose kids born in 2 jan 2009 to 1 jan 2010 :-
\"http://www.rgps.moe.edu.sg/wbn/slot/u1762/PVG/PV%20Application%20Form%20%28for%20child%20born%20in%202009%29_updated.doc\"
(sorry, too long. Pls remove the open and end quote, before hit <enter>)
Once the dateline close, then they will start to process.
Just monitor the dateline.
FYI -
From the applications received, nowadays school only take in maximum around 20 pv at most.
Unlike past years before 2011 -
school took in many; around 40 pv last time.
Back then, a lot of pv accepted.
But Now, very few; cut down to around 20 max, per batch intake
Example
this year July 2013 p1 registration -
Only about 18 pv went in.
If school need extra help -
will call upon current, existing enrolled (p1 to p6) parents, to help out. -
Phtthp tku for the info n prompt response.

Hi Parents,
My DD has just been accepted into P3/2014, I am having difficulties getting the book "Stuart Little". Does any one has a second copy of Stuart Little available for my DD? -
You're welcome, babyrr.
Just wait for the school to announce your child's turn.
Don't miss the dateline.

Hi parents of primary 1 (2014) Rgps girls,

http://www.rgps.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x?c=/wbn/pagetree&func=view&rid=50147
(Think some of the p1 tr are new to school) -
Thanks for all the information.
So cfm the girls r startin oni on 6 jan and not tml ya? Hahaaa m soo stressed w many peers startin sch tml.
See all on this sat! -
Thanks phtthp for the link!

See so many friends post pics of their P1 kids on Facebook...so exciting! Hopefully parents would be allowed in sch on Monday...(some schools don't allow). -
Based on last few years intake, there is an obvious trend of lesser students from >2km. I was told that the dd’s sch bus only pickup 10+ this year instead of 20+ last year. The good news is dd has half an hour more sleeping time but the bad news we have to pay more.

how was traffic condition this morning for P5 and P6 students, and tonight evening for P2 students ?
this Saturday (4 Jan):-
P1 parents may request individual class timetable, from form teacher -
to know which weekday has PE lesson; bring PE T-shirt & shorts, for those days. Different class (different house color) conduct PE, on different days.
on Monday (6 Jan) :-
P1 parents not allowed to go canteen.
If 270 P1 parents go inside, chaos.
P2 will buddy each new P1 student, guide & teach P1 how to buy food during recess time.
P1 can bring own lunch box, if preferred.
P1 recess time: 3 pm -
P1 parents are allowed to see their kids during recess (3pm to 4pm) but can’t get near to them. The school will fence up the canteen and parents can crowd around the fence to watch their DD queuing for food.
