Hello...any Sec 1 parent also been asked to pay school bus fee for Dec 2013? I received the card this morning was wondering if it's an error? I can understand if it's a sec 2 kid paying for both months Dec 13 and Jan 14...

Hi, it is payment for Jan and Dec 2014 (not Dec 2013). This is an industry practice for all school buses.

Ok yeah I get it now...we never sent our kids on school bus before...still think it's crazy to ask to pay even for Dec 2014 upfront. School bus operators seem to be very \"creative\" in setting rules...well at least it's a nice big bus we are paying for!

Hello! Year 1 parent reporting in šŸ˜„

I have some questions regarding rainy days:
        - I noticed that the bus stop gate (gate 3) closes at 9.15am on rainy mornings. Will the girls still be considered as being in time if they arrive by 9.15am (won't be booked)?

        - Are parents allowed to either walk or drive in after school if it rains?

        Thank you!

A student will be booked if she's late. Unless there are extenuating circumstances like massive traffic jams arising from bad weather and a large portion of students are late as well.

The gates may be open if it's raining, in which case you can drive in to drop your daughter. The security guards will direct traffic accordingly. There's no need for parents to walk into school, raining or not.

Thanks for the info jtoh. New school, new rules. Feels like pri 1 again. šŸ˜‚

There is no bus for June, Nov and Dec. RGS ends school by end Oct. There will be another two months that we have to pay double fare too.

For students taking 3rd language and have their first lesson on 10/1/14 (Friday). This happens to be RGS orientation night.

I have called RGS and was told that the affected students will skip their first lesson and MOELC has been informed.

            FYI

The only other alternatives are for everyone to may a much much higher fee per month or pay upfront on an annual basis.

Hi,I am a sec 1 rgs student this year. Just wanted to ask if the school band uses the keyboard? And if yes is it difficult to get into the band?

                Tia. šŸ™‚

Hi Tia. I'm RGS Sec 1 too šŸ™‚ I'm not sure about the keyboard part but I think it's kinda hard to get in. You should have to have some previous experience in your desired instrument and I THINK you have to go through trials. Not sure about band actually but I know the RGS Strings and Chinese Orchestra is pretty hard to get in. My friend say must select from a lot of people who have very high grades.

I'm not really sure if what I'm saying is accurate but that's what our seniors say... Wish you all the best in getting into band, sis!

Hi, has anyone noticed that the new school uniform is of lighter blue that is more similar to the IJ schools? Wonder if there is a change in colour or a mistake made by Bibi & Baba.

I don't think there's a keyboard...? But you can ask them on CCAO itself, they will be happy to tell you the requirements, training days etc. Meanwhile, have fun during orientation!!

It has been quite the buzz.
