According to their timetable, assembly is only on Monday. Yesterday night i noticed we didn't buy four books which were out of stock during orientation. 😢 Today got to bring to school and pass to teacher....

Well, kids are kids and tend to be exuberant - it's hard to say if they are well disciplined but so far my kids have not had issues with other kids, nor had they encountered bullies.

HWS stresses on moral upbringing in addition to academics. I like the school in that it's not competitive (then again, could be my kids are laidback to beging with). School provides additional assistance (like after hours additional lessons where required).

Not sure where your question stems from, but at the end of it all, HWS is a good school. BUT do take into account the distance you have to travel each day. There will be times when kiddo needs to stay behind. Transport IS an important consideration for the next 6 years.

Sorry, how old is your child? Cos for P1, I thought they provide 2 weeks of catered food? My kid was so sick of beehoon after a while (not that he had ever taken a shine to it). After that, P1 I believe get to go canteen a bit earlier and there will be 'big brothers/sisters' to guide them (although my kids' big brother ran off sometimes...but the P1s banded together and went ahead, no issue there).

My 2 boys also in their own world....I have to dig and pry until I sianz.

Yup, this year like quite tragic. In the past (pre Popular times), auntie will take down on her notebook the name and the books owing...Somehow, magically, the books will be ready for teachers and parents don't need to get involved. Even name tags I didn't have to worry with auntie around. I miss her!

FYI. I went to sch last Sat expecting to go buy some books but security guard told me that bookshop no longer operates on Saturdays. Parents who wish to go in to purchase books during weekdays can only do so from 2-4pm. Not too happy about it, but if only me make noise, nothing will be done. I am considering to feedback to school and ask them to keep bookshop open on Sat for at least a month after school reopens. Parents, you may like to provide feedback to the school. If enough pp feel strongly, maybe the school will improve this aspect.

I think is generally correct. Thought MA = Maths (not sure if got association).

For PAL, your kid get to do different things. One year, my child spent the lesson time in the field learning about what's there (I think). Quite interesting and fun.

I dunno where they put the calligraphy and the chinese instrument class (either er hu or guzheng).

i also have the issue of some books not purchased. last sunday i even dropped by the popular bookshop at my place to check it out, but they say they do not have the books.

yesterday the school diary book highlighted the chinese civic education book not submitted. i made hb write back in chinese that book not sold in bookshop, how????

how do we go to buy books on wkdays if we are working? can we get our p1 kids go to the bookshop and buy the missing books?
