thanx dyh and php for explaining...but the way ds put across to me is like...teacher-in-charge came to class, explained a little, then just ask who wanted to participate and those who raised hands would get the form...seemed like quite \"up-to-you\"...ur kids (or anyone whose kids) had prior experience? :?
Congrats to your gal. CLIP is a \"GEP-like\" program in phpps. They are required to do research, presentation, project etc. -
Thanks dyh. Anyone’s kid went through CLIP? Can share if the activity is interesting and useful? The first session is starting this Friday.

Anyone with p3 kids noticed that they will be having ca1 science only and not others subject. How come? Any idea or is it a typo error in the comm letter?
Yes, only Sci for CA1, and not other subjects. Confirmed with my DD's form teacher. It's a blessing to me! *phew*

Hi Maple Leaf
For the Art Club timing, it is stated in the Annex A of the info leaflet from the school (sent out on 2 Jan) on CCA Online Registration for 2014. It's on Friday 10am - 12pm.
I think kids will go directly to the main foyer after the class and gather for assembly at 1pm. As my gal is at student care, i sure hope she knows how to go back there to pack her stuffs; grab a quick lunch before they all assemble again at foyer!
CAP - if not mistaken is Chinese Arts Programme. But correct me if i'm wrong ah, coz i'm still waiting for the presentation materials last week to be uploaded into the school website. I forgot quite a bit liao... hahhaha... otherwise, you might be able to find this info in the Student Handbook.
Thanks for the info.
Our main concern is also the same. Not sure if she is mature enough to take care of herself. She lost her way twice on Monday.(1st day without buddy). :wrongmove:

Maybe it is the top class and everyone is qualified? It is an optional program.

My ds1 went thru it. He enjoyed it. Whether interesting or not will depend on the individual.
Useful? Definitely. Gives the child the opportunity to learn about research methodology, prepare and do presentations, do project, exhibition of project during the TalentFest. Eventually, you get an award cert too for your project. Could be useful for DSA.

Maybe this year on, they have decided to let interested students sign up for the CLIP programme, as my girl is definitely not HA student. Neither did she do very well in Science subject last year. This is more like voluntary sign up programme, I guess the HA students are selected something called E2K or Y2K.dyh:

However, will give it a go, hopefully like what you say, they will really get to learn those skills which may make Science more fun. -

I think interest and academic grades need not necessary come hand in hand.
It is good that the sch now recognises this and opens more opportunities to the cohort, enrichment programs no longer limited to top classes pupils.
