      Go to school:

what's the difference between gymnastics and fitness club?
Fitness club may include both (ag and Rg) facilities.
Our school offer only rhythmic gymnastics. (Rg)
      No artistic gym. (Ag)

Other schools like mgs, Scgs, Marymount convent, ai tong, chij st Nicholas, nanyang primary, henry park, etc - offer artistic gym, but not ours.
Our school do not have the facilities for ag.
We only have the apparatus for Rg.

In our school, for Rg -
      P1s only learn free hand.
This is the basics, to start off with.
How your move your hands, your limbs, turn around, is important.
Rg is a combination of (dance + gymnastics) skill.
If your dd learn ballet, it complement Rg very well.
Because some form of dancing is involved; Rg only for girls.

After p1 mastered free hand :-
when they go higher up, then they start to handle some gym apparatus, eg: handle skipping rope, club, colorful ribbon, hoola loop.
When come to p3/p4, then they'll learn to handle these apparatus.
Each apparatus involve a unique technique

Here is one example of Rg :-
      http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PlAhAR56LAI

There is no pre-requisite, if join in p1.
Start from scratch, all learn freehand.
If your dd is those that is active, like to run around type, this is a very good form of exercise for her. Release her energy
Or if your dd is the dancing type & like to turn a bit of somersault, come, come & join 🙂

If you need to settle down in term 1, can join in term 2 but not too late

          What is modular CCA?

          There are 2 module.

          In semester 1 -
          P1s will learn wushu

          In semester 2 -
This programme expose students to learn the various types of ethnic music & dance skills & technique.
They will learn about Chinese, Malay & Indian culture, & their classical & folk Dances.

          If your dd is Malay,
She'll learn the dance steps technique of (Chinese, Indian) dance, besides Malay dance.

          If your dd is Indian,
She'll learn the Dance steps technique of (Chinese, Malay) dance, besides Indian dance.

          If your dd is Chinese,
She'll learn the dance steps technique of (Malay, Indian) dance, besides
          Chinese dance.

This Is a good exposure to learn dancing, in a multi-racial society.

First cca lesson commence after Chinese New Year in February, every Thursday 10 am.
          Modular cca is newly introduced.

phtthp: is that your DD in the video? So poised and confident! Plus the great performance! Thanks for the clip. My DD thought of joining gym, now she has a better picture of what it entails - certainly a lot of hard work that went into it.
