Hi P1 parents

Did you all receive a Chinese tingxie list (hanyu pinyin)? Any idea when is the tingxie? My girl in P1kindness. I also realized the teacher did not collect the 2 Chinese exercise book from her. Did your girls leave the Chinese ex books in sch?

Many thanks

Hi Superbusymum,
My girl has the tingxie list but she didn't put a date on it so I don't know when the tingxie is. The teacher seemed to have only collected 1 exercise book. I'm a bit unhappy because her bag is so heavy. She has the Maths and Chinese text book in her bag all the time!

Didn't know what to pack for art today also. Hopefully teacher don't scold her!

Hi

My girl is in 1 Patience. She was given the tingxie list yesterday and written dates on them. First list - dated 14 Jan 14, second list - 4 Feb 14, cannot remember the subsequent date. Teachers have collected all her books except for Maths textbook, Chinese textbook, CCE textbook, social studies book and handbook (which they have to bring everyday).

Parents - 1 Patience - correct?

Sometimes I am not sure if my girl has absent mindedly left the book in school or the teacher has collected. How to verify?
Hi Ninja,

I do not see any Tingxie list! (worried now) My girl's bag have the above books you mentioned, also the Stellar Handwriting and one more Chinese exercise book not collected... My girl told me only her shower bag can be left in the locker.. Last mon I went to check her locker, it was empty books were kept by teacher I guess.. sometimes I find it weird also as she wrote in her handbook bring social studies and health ed book, which I packed for her yesterday & health ed was missing in her bag...

Hi! Sglady,

My girl's Health Ed was not in her bag yesterday, I believed teacher kept them. But if YMCA coaches the girls tingxie, the list should still be given to us I suppose, but I do not have them...=(
Tonight I go check & ask my girl...

Thanks KateS. I find it that there is not much communication between teachers and parents. Like what books they will be collecting, when to bring lock, when is tingxie etc. even yesterday, she took back one worksheet and I don't even know if to complete all or what.
I thought the least was to have all the homework or stuff written on their handbook. I only see entries on 2 days and that's it.

You are right! I also don't know what to pack for her art class today. :scratchhead:

cold comfort to all who are confused with what’s going on, but in a way i’m glad i wasn’t the only one to feel this way.

but am trying to stay positive that it’s only p1 and beginning of the year, and hence there is still time to have things ironed out.
my dd came home with two stacks of worksheets yesterday and said they have to be handed back on monday. i am just taking her word for it and getting her to complete all within the next few days.
with regard to the tingxie, the dates are as what ninja indicated. looks like it’s every fortnight starting with 14 jan (but different classes might be different).
my question is are they tested on the words or the hanyu pinyin or both? my dd says the words but another mother told us it’s hanyu pinyin…
i also have no idea what happened to the text/exercise books that are now missing from her bag…

Been missing on this thread.

My gal class teacher collected all her books except maths n Chinese workbook.
Meaning pe journal, Ftgp, music book also collected. In a way good coz lighter bag load too.

She also informed me she spotted her name on the locker and have used her padlock.

She also received the tingxie form but I’m not confident of the dates she wrote is correct or not. Like ylkoon I don’t know if it’s tested on Chinese words or hypy only or both. She said only hypy but sure or not I don’t know. So make her learn both first. Then see what happens.

hi ryes, my dd didn't tell me about needing to bring padlock, neither was there any note from the teacher.
was the lock supplied by the school or do i need to get one for my dd?

Dear P1 Parents

Pls also check your girl school Diary. Teachers will normally ask the the child to write any homework or infomation in the school diary.

The diary serve as an communication booklet.

You will get a clearer pic after the parents , Teachers meeting.

Hi ylkoon

I was told abt the padlock by my brother whose girls are in smps.
That’s why dec we got one for her. It’s not supplied by sch. We got hers those that has a combination number type. Not the key and lock type. Scarly lost key die.

Teacher didn’t inform me abt padlock either. But some parents who Pv at smps knows they have to get a padlock.

I sure have lots of question marks too and rely a lot on my girl’s memory to tell me things. Because the pupil handbook she only copies whatever teacher writes on board.
So if teacher didn’t write and verbally tells them only then really must wait till they remembers and tell us parents then know.

The Chinese teacher collected only 1 exercise book from my girl n
She left the workbook with teacher so only has textbook to bring daily.
She said they are using the mini whiteboard already since yesterday so parents do remember to put in the bag for ur gals.
She said she was tested on hypy on the board yesterday also.
