Thyroid for kids

My 12 yrs old daughter recently went for blood test and doctor discovered that she got problem with her thyroid gland. That's why it affected her growth. I've not start any treatment on her where doctor want to do futher test.

Does anyone got the same problem as my daughter ? Would appreciate you can share with me ?

Hi lymmlim,

I was born with hypothyroidism, ie no thyroid gland. So I have to take thyroxine as supplement…been taking this for the past 38 years.
My mum told me I kept vomitting all the milk even after burping…fortunately a doctor realized I had this prob and after blood tests were done, it was confirmed that I need to take thyroxine.

I suggest you bring your daughter for a checkup soon and start medication if necessary. This should be under endocrine.
My parents are small built, so I am not tall. During my pregnancies, I saw the doctor more frequently as I needed to increase dosage of thyroxine. My 2 kids are normal and do not have this problem.
