P1 band cca
===============
No pre-requisites required, to join.
There will be a band instructor, to teach our girls basic music theory.
Band instructor will introduce the different family of instruments, to the girls.
Pupils can highlight to either band instructor, or teacher in charge, which instrument they like to play.
However, after a few session(s), if the instructor feel that the child is more suitable for another instrument, he will encourage the child to change to another instrument.
Normally, mini trumpet will be the first instrument that they will start off with. After that, will monitor their progress from there, & select an instrument for them. -

p1 / p2 girls can join \"band cca\", but not join \"string ensemble.\"
I read somewhere that Rgps have strings ensemble too.
Is it part of the band cca?
\"String ensemble\" -
is a cca for p3 to p6 girls, to join.
\"String ensemble\" is a group of girls who have attained higher standard in playing violin, cello, double bass.
Good players from \"violin cca\" (another cca from p3 to p6), have a chance to join \"string ensemble\", after she pass grade 2 violin exam.
\"String ensemble\" have chance to perform in school events.
For big events like sg youth festival -
\"string ensemble\" will represent our school Rgps, to perform.
At the moment, there is no \"violin cca\" for p1/p2.
\"Violin cca\" only start from p3.
We have grade 1 & grade 2 session(s), for \"violin cca\"
As lessons are conducted in a group, personal attention is not as much as attending individual lessons.
But If pupils have regular practice at home, the lessons conducted in school are sufficient for them to be ready to take the violin exam, at the end of about 9 months. Your child will need to pay for exam fees.
In \"band cca\" however -
we will not teach string instruments.
For \"band cca\" performance -
Other than school events, we do arrange outdoor performance.
As for how often we perform, it depend.
We will try to arrange at least one performance outdoor, per year. -
