Hello, just discovered this topic. Does anyone know whether there will be T-score in the 2015 PSLE? PM announced last year it will be abolished but subsequent MOE statements then made it unclear when it will take effect.

I thought t-score won’t be announced from this year’s P6 cohort onwards. Will be so difficult to choose school without knowing t-score.

I remember the Prime Minister said during the National Day Rally that it will take some time before the new system of only grades, without t score be ready. So, it is really a question mark when will it kick in.

Went to DD’s school PTC last fri n principal said it will take a couple of years for the new system to take place. So I guess the current system will be still be adopted in 2015. I m more worried on the new English format next year.

on the contrary, i think the new english format is better than the current one than that my older dd has just went through in last year's psle. i think as long as the foundation in english is sufficient, the new system will be kinder. πŸ˜„

The New English format is already been taught in my DD school in P4. Personally I think the new format is much easier then the old format.
I also think that For 2015 it will still be the T-score grading system

I was told by the teacher that one of the change they made to the oral will be that the picture is no longer one full picture with everything in it for the child to describe each and everything in clkwise or anti-clkwise but instead they will be given, example a packet of milk and they will have to talk about it....like why they think the package is designed in such a way, will they buy it, and why and so on....thus, if the child don't know how to elaborate on the packet of milk...then finished (die)!

What you said about the oral is true, last year my DD's oral was based on breakfast cereal. The teacher will prompt you a question, and from there you have to build up your own stories. It's not a matter of elaborating, it's how confidently you talk and thinking out of the box.
