      Hi there,

I'm deciding between Rosyth and HIPS for my son's 2014 registration for P1 in 2015. A major consideration is the distance, as I live in Punggol and my ILs live in Kovan. After school, my son goes to my IL's place. Those taking school bus and living in Punggol, would you be able to let me know roughly what time the pick up is? I'm just afraid he might have to wake up too early if he takes school bus to Rosyth, which is much further. Also, would like to know if HIPS gives children a lot of homework in the first few years. It seems that Rosyth is quite balanced in this aspect and does not over burden their students, which seems like a plus point to me. Any feedback would be appreciated. Tks!
I feel for school bus, it is not the distance that determine the pickup time. It more to how many pick up points the bus need to route after picking up your kids.

We stayed less than 2 km to my kids primary school. If we drive our kids there, it take less than 10 minutes to reach. But our school bus pick up my kids at 6.15 am!!!!!! School started at 7.20 am. Because we are the 1st kids to go up the bus and last kids to drop off when return. 😢 My friend stayed in town area, same school as my kids and her pick up time is 6.30 am. Later than mine. :stupid:

Hence, to me, school bus timing should not be used to determine your choice of school. You maybe surprise that the pick up time for Roysth \"MAYBE\" later than Holy. 😛

        Hi Krex

Another point to note: The school bus route and timings change depending on kids who sign up for the year. It can be quite a drastic change from year to year. A friend who lives in a condo near school…her son was first to be picked one year and sixth to be picked up the next year.

Hi, need advice from parents here. Does anyone knows the details of the P3 enrichment progrAmme? My child in P3 this year was asked to attend extra lessons for every day? Does anyone know what are being done during these enrichment classes? Possible to opt out? Anyone opt out before? Thank you very much.

                hi mommies,

tks for the comments on sch bus timings. another qn: do your children in lower primary get a lot of homework and what's the sch's approach to weaker students? i've gotten feedback that rosyth is pretty relaxed for the 1st 3 years, but not sure about HIPS. can anyone comment? tks 🙂

May I know is your child is from the best class? From my understanding, most classes only need to attend 1 or 2 days extra lesson. Some extra lesson only for weaker student.

                    Hi Krex

My girl is in P3 this year. Based on our experience, there weren’t alot of homework in p1 and p2. The work are usually manageable and my girl is able to finish it on time. There are weekly spellings and 听写. I only find the HCL rather demanding.

                      Hi Mrs Seah

Thanks for replying. Not too sure about best class… My girl did not mention. She has to attend extra lessons on 4 days of the week plus 1 day of CCA. She has to stay back late everyday. I am concerned she will be tired out so asking whether there are parents of similar concerns and had opt out of the progrAmme.
