Hi lil_jade, you can purchase Stellar Handwriting Book 1 from http://colourb2b.com.sg/index.php/assemant/stellar-handwriting-book-1.html or from http://www.teachersproduction.com

There is another Handwriting book titled Purposeful Penmanship by Pearly Chai which can be purchased from http://www.teachersproduction.com website too.

I heard from school bookshop aunty that only 2 primary schools in Singapore are using the MY Pals Are Here Handwriting book. Currently the book is out of stock in school as well as in Popular. My Pals Are Here Handwriting book deals with the fundamental of handwriting rule such as paper/book positioning, pencil gripping as well as the correct letters' strokes.

Is there a rule that states parents are not allowed to be in the canteen after our DD's CCA is over? My dd told me that a lady was using microphone to talk in the hall and telling all the P1 & P2 girls that they are big girls now, no need their mummies to come school to feed them like babies. My dd said mummies cannot go into canteen and stay too long there. The girls must buy food from canteen to eat. :yikes: School discourages parents to send food over or check on them after CCA is over.

I wonder what is the school trying to convey to the kids. If there is a need, issue a letter to the parents and notify them. Unless that person has not been a mother before, she will not understand that a mother worries if her child eats well or not.

Let me quote my senario. I gave my dd $4. After CCA is over, she bought some miscellaneous stuff that were selling near school canteen. I wonder for what purpose?! (Maybe for fundraising)Then my dd bought food and when I checked her remainder in her money purse later, only $0.30 was left! Horror! Can u imagine if I were not there to check, how can she survive on $0.30 for recess afterwards? I had to supplement her another $2.

I hope the school can understand that parents are concern about the general well-being of the children. Parents should be given access to the canteen to be with the children especially for the first month.

Chosun and freelie, my daughter said mental sum format is to draw the grids and lines in advance for 6 pages so that next time no need to draw.

My gal freaked out last night when there is handwriting home work indicated in the helpmate but she can’t find here book in the bag. Turns out that it was too rush for teacher to give back the book.
And she said that there is breakfast coupon when she buys bbq pao and she was so happy with her buy. She loves coupons and discounts too!

I share your same concern. my dd ended eating only fish balls for the lunch after CCA and the same during recess. She said the stalls had long queues and she didnt know where to buy noodles or rice from. i cant imagine how she could tahan with only fish balls from 9am until 7pm. I suggest school allows parents to guide their P1 girls atleast for the 1st month.

If your child is in P1 taking school bus, must teach your child how to stand up for herself on bus. Some P2 girls will "bully" the P1 girls. I should say some P2 girls can be "si bei kuai lan".
