The parent symposium was genially a presentation about HCI's approach to holistic education. What struck me was their v strong coomitment to bilingualism, character development, Chinese values & oral communication. Students are advised to read a lot to do well in HCI. Promotion criteria is C6, it appears the general mood is a forigiving one for Sec 1 so they have time to adjust. After which they are expected to step up to the plate in Sec 2. Interestingly, parents kept asking about CCA allocation and the long and short of it is to use your CCA choice wisely & hope for the best as the school will allocate based on ability, supply & demand. In general, iSparks cater to GEP and other similar characters. Malaysian scholars go to Ortus. Sportsmen go to Aphelion and ProEd. Everyone else are evenly spread across the board so all Consortiums get a mixture of grades and abilities.Hello Year 1 parents
I will not be able to make it for tomorrow parents symposium, it will be great if you could share the session briefly over here. Would love to hear the general and the Ortus session sharing.
Thank you!
I couldn't make it in time to attend the consortium presentation so if anyone can share what's went on in the ProEd one, I'd be much obliged. -
Thank you Travelmummy, this is very useful

Hi,
Can any sec 1 parent advise if we have been given the password to log in to ISP (Intelligent School Portal)? Thanks. -
The password for ISP is the login id but in caps., eg. PT0123456F.

Thanks Q Pan, can you tell me more about this? Do they have selection, are year 1 allowed and what are the activities? Thank you!
There is a Math Olympiad Class. The selection criteria is based on the student's performance in APMOPS. Otherwise, students who do particularly well in SMO (J) are given a chance to join the class. (though that differs by the year). If your child is not in, which I assume to be so thus the question, there is no point worrying. Just make the best of what he is given.
There is a Socrates Club.Q Pan:
Another question, does HCI has Maths Team or Maths Club (not CCA) - that provides accelerated Maths / Math Olympiads / Maths competition? If so, what are the selection criteria? And is it available for the Year 1 boys?
Thank you!
Socrates Club is an invitational CCA for those in the Math Olympiad for them to play Math games and do random Math questions. -

Hi, this question just occurred to me last night.
my son is in Sec 1, and doing MSP now. Will the MSP grade be included in the calculation of MSG for the year-end report card?
Thanks! -
Have checked with the director, MSP will be included in the MSG calculation if you take it. Same goes to LEP.
