Hi
My son is in Pro-tech student care, he come back and tell me that when he want 2nd bowl or 2nd pcs of rice/snacks. The teacher say to him that ask your mummy to pay more. then I call up and ask, they say yes, will have to pay addition $30 for each month so that they will give him 2nd bowl. Anyone encounter this ? -
this is new…
but my kids did tell me that they are not allowed to have second helpings… unless there are extras (I assume from those who are absent)… but I wasn’t told abt the paying part… hmmmm… -
My guess is that the food is catered from the canteen and thus the operator may charge Pro teach if more food is consumed. Unlike outside student care where the food is prepared by in house anutie/uncle, u can have additional helpings.

agree… we wouldn’t want unconsumed food to go to waste anyway… tuff balance
but I tink somethin can be done abt the snacks… these kids are growing and I heard most kids find the snacks to be too little… -
My girl told me that they were not allowed to take second serving at Pro-teach, but I am surprised in the way they told the kids! They should have granted the kid the wish (he is hungry there and then!), take note of the additional charges, and then inform the parent concerned. They should also have issued a memo on this to all parents before they implement it.
My girl had to 加料 on her own on one of those days when her lunch serving was not enough for her appetite. luckily, she didn’t go and ask the teachers, she just bought extra vegetables from the Japanese store on her own. -
seems like the food serving is a common issue…
if it is so common… then perhaps the student care should nego with the canteen operators for a bigger portion (not necessarily double servings).
