Hi winzky66,
What u mentioned, my girl has encountered before. I have friend with daughter in the morning session who has warned me about this type of bullying that is happening in the school when her dd was in lower primary. I did not understand at that point of time what she meant but now I do! My dd will come back and said the p2 girls behave like bus auntie and tell the P1 girls where to sit on the bus and the P2 girls will choose the best seats for themselves. I told my girl to tell them that the seats are meant for sharing and use by all. Everyday, I hear a lot of happenings on the school bus and I have to teach my girl what to say back if the P2 girls verbal bully again. My girl still does not understand the full term of meaning bullying. But from what she has described, she has been a victim and I told her to stand up for herself and speak out and the P2 girls can't do anything to her. The more the child keeps quiet, the P2 girls will go and verbal bully them. That is why it is crucial that all parents must spend time of at least 15 mins a day to find out what happen in school and on the bus.
I hope the P2 form teachers can speak to the P2 girls that they are suppose to be nice and take care of the Pri 1 girls in school and on the bus. P2 girls should learn to use kind words. These P2 girls who are domineering will move up to Pri 3 next year and then the whole cycle starts again because they are on same bus.
For big bus, there is bus aunty to take care the girls on bus. For small bus, there is no bus aunty to take care the girls. My girl is in small bus. Bus uncle told me his bus is notorious among the other buses.winzky66:
Hi
my DD also face the same problem on the bus with the P2 girls bully my DD verbally.. is so disappointed. Btw, heard some children fall off the bus when they reached school as the bus step was quite high and due to their heavy bags, the little girl fall face down. Really hope the school principal can advise all bus operator to guide the little girl down the bus as a safety precaution to prevent this from happening in future. Even should the bus operator work alone with no assistance.
Parents please ask your DD daily what happen in school or in the bus , just in case they are bullied. Hope they do not keep in silence... -
By the way, my girl told me there is a shortcut that leads to the canteen from the classrooms. She said something about rocky path. I think that is her shortcut as she said when she reached the canteen, her classmates will still be behind her despite the teacher dismissed them together for recess.
Surprisingly, my girl said the canteen is very crowded and even if she goes with a classmate for recess, they will end up losing each other as they buy food from different stalls and not sure where the other party was. My girl’s strategy is to buy food first, then look for a place where she can find someone that she knows from the class or school bus or Chinese class (hers combined with another class) or CCA girls. Then she will ask politely for permission to sit with them. It works for her this way as she gets to eat with different friends everyday. This is better than for girls to stay in a clique. My main aim is for my girl to adapt in school and socialize well in Term 1. -

Any parents to advise what to expect on Thursday,30/1/2014 (CNY eve) for the school celebration? There is a letter that states the celebration is combined for both sessions and held from 7.15am to 10am.
How is the bus driver going to arrange the logistic? Afternoon session girls will have to wake up 5 something to board the 6 something morning bus. Can parents of dd in higher levels share what can we expect to happen on that day?
hubby checked with bus driver.. but driver say will advise again next week.. -
Hi , sembgal
I have already take note of the P2 girl name and class that bully my DD, will observe for a while before I put a note to the teacher or the principal. As for the DD’s to alight from the bus when they reached school, I think is still the bus operator responsibility to make sure the girls alight the bus safely, just imagine the school bag is not light and the girls are small size too. Really not easy to balance themselves at all. -
Hi, the school bag can be rather heavy and especially if the girl has to carry the art bag to school. My girl almost tripped and fell from the bus when she arrived home with art bag and school bag. I can't imagine any girl falling face flat down in school after alighting from bus. I hope the school can utilize some manpower by asking the teachers or maybe parent volunteers to monitor the girls alighting from the bus. What about rainy days? Will our dd be drenched in the rain or not?
What bus number is your girl on winzky66?winzky66:

Speaking of heavy bag, most of my gal’s textbooks seems to be kept in locker, including her art bag. So she doesn’t need to lug it around. I suppose that’s a good thing. Just wondering if that’s the case for u. The thing is, I hardly get to see her textbooks.

Teachers do not keep in lockers, they keep in the classroom on a table at the back of the class. English books and bible in school. The rest have to bring back everyday.

Yep, I asked her to describe where the things are kept. She says \"It's a cabinet that can close door, but the white paper booklets are on kept on the shared table.\"
