I have dropped you a PM. -
Candy Candy:
hi Sachiko, we are PRs and Catholic, so we are under phase 2B por St. Nick and 2C for the rest. Thinking on moving close to school to be under 1km. First need to decide on school in order to move close to it. So difficult to decide..need some feedback about schools and what is the experience of some parents having kids on those schools. THanks!!
Hi, riding on candy candy's request, my DD has a choice of either SNGS or my sons' school. Still deciding. If you have feedback on SNGS, would appreciate it too. -

Hi Candy Candy
The schools you have in mind except SNG do have balloting in phase 2C within 1km. You can go to this link to take a look at the past balloting history.

As for SNG, surprisingly they did not have balloting for applicants staying within 2km for phase 2B, so you might stand a higher chance if you stay within 1km.
I am not sure if this is true. My neighbour who is a Catholic said that SNG did not accept the Church membership she posses, so she cannot apply for her girl under 2B. In the end, she applied CHIJ Toa Payoh and they accepted. You might want to check with SNG. -

Hi JanjnjHi, can anyone advise how's the 'stress' level in P1 & subsequent years? Do they have lots of homework? What sort of teachers do they have?
thnks
I would say there is no 'stress' level in P1. My girl who is in P2 now enjoyed her honeymoon year during P1 as there was no examination at all. For this year P2, she does not have many homeworks too but I guess they did it in class. Although no exam, their teachers will give them topical review quiz which will be taken into CA marks.
Workload gets heavier in P5 which my elder daugher is experiencing now. She gets at least 3 homework each day. Plus her own tuition homework, she is literally doing work all the time. -
Hi sachiko,
Thnks for sharing. I suppose P5 is the same at all schs nowadays. Do u know of any good student care for the girls?
If ur P5 gal doing Higher Chinese? -

I think there is a misunderstanding somewhere. SNG is a Catholic school and if a Baptism Cert is produced, there is no way that the school would turn away a registration from a Catholic under 2B. -

that's right. And it's the baptismal cert of the child that is required, not the parent. same for all catholic schoolssachiko:

Totally agree with you. Some parents think that it is the baptismal cert of the parents instead of the child's that can be used for registration at 2B.

Just curious. My girls are baptized in a Presbyterian church. Does SNG accept them?
-
I don’t think so. Only from Catholic church.
